"If this happens again, I won't hesitate to kill her."
Finley's words were anything but a joke. He spoke with deadly seriousness. If Stella dared to lay a hand on Samantha again, he would certainly end her life.
Terrified by the intensity of Finley's gaze, Stella shrank behind her husband. Meanwhile, upon seeing that John had arrived, Samantha finally put down the knife in her hand. With that, the chaotic scene came to an end.
Finley took Samantha to the living room to bandage her wounds.
Noticing how worried he was, Samantha smiled and said, "Finley, I just accidentally cut my finger. Everything else is fine."
"You're lying. If it's just your finger, why is there so much blood on your forehead?"
Finley's face was grim, his eyes full of concern.
Samantha chuckled. "The blood is from that woman in the kitchen."
She then leaned closer to Finley's ear and whispered, "Actually, after she hurt me, I cut her wrist with a knife. I've been provoking her ever since, and she didn't have time to bandage it. When we fought, some of her blood accidentally dripped on my head. So, I'm alright. She didn't really bully me. From beginning to end, the one being bullied was her, not me."
Her warm breath grazed Finley's ear.
Looking at Samantha, who was grinning after causing trouble, Finley pulled her into his arms, his heart aching. "Don't do anything dangerous again. Even if you weren't really bullied, I don't want you fighting anyone. If you get hurt, it'll break my heart." Samantha gently patted his back. "Finley, you don't have to worry about me. No one can bully me."
After a pause, she added, "Except you."
"You fool."
Samantha rested her head against his chest. "Then do you like a fool?"
"I like everything about you, no matter what."
They shared a smile as Finley took out disinfectant from the first-aid kit and carefully tended to her wounds.
Once he finished, Samantha said, "The fish in the kitchen. I haven't finished cleaning it."

John stood nearby, frowning at Stella's bleeding hand. "Your hand has been bleeding this whole time. Why don't you come out and get it treated?"
Stella cast a fearful glance at Finley and Samantha sitting on the couch. She weakly said, "Dad, my injury isn't too serious. It seems like Finley doesn't want to see me. How about we leave for now and come back to visit you some other time?" Without waiting for a reply, she grabbed Jacob's hand and quickly fled from the house before Finley could even glance in their direction.
As soon as they were outside, Jacob began scolding Stella. "What on earth happened? I asked you to cook for Dad and to keep him happy. How did you end up fighting with Finley's wife? Don't you know why we came to see Dad today?" Of course, I know, but Samantha has provoked me first.
If she had just revealed her identity sooner and hadn't cut my hand, none of this would've happened.
