Her Worst Fear
I knew that the only way to stop my father is to stop his political allies. I guess when we do that, he won’t have the power to fight and so he would have no choice but to accept his punishment for all his crimes.” Anisa said.
“Yeah, that’s what we’re trying to do.” Raven said.
“We know that Don Rizzo is a selfish human being who cares for nobody but himself. He would do anything to protect his reputation and that’s what we are trying to destroy his reputation.
Once we destroy that, we can get him arrested. And that’s through the public opinions.
So we need the public to fight this battles with us.” Raven said.
Anisa sighed, feeling the weight of the mission. “It’s a daunting task, but it’s the only way to make them pay for what they’ve done.”
Raven placed a reassuring hand on Anisa’s shoulder.
“We’ll do it together, Anisa. One step at a time.”
“I’m just worried why my mother hasn’t called. She promised to call soon, but it’s been few days now and no word from her.” Anisa said.
“Don’t you worry, you will get a call from her soon.” Raven said.
Raven nodded in agreement. “I’m sure your mother is taking precautions, Anisa. She’ll reach out when it’s safe to do so.”
Anisa managed a small smile. “I hope so. I miss her, and I just want to know that she’s okay.”
Raven gave Anisa’s shoulder a reassuring squeeze. “We’ll keep an eye out for any messages or calls. You’re not alone in this, Anisa.”
The days passed, and the team continued to work tirelessly to gather more evidence and rally public support against Don Rizzo and Ramos.
They published more articles, conducted interviews, and used social media to expose the truth.
One evening, as the team gathered at the hideout to discuss their progress, Alfredo had news to share.
“Good news, everyone. Our efforts are paying off. The public is starting to turn against Don Rizzo. He’s losing support among his political allies.”
Raven nodded with satisfaction. “That’s a significant step forward. We need to keep the pressure on.”
Anisa was cautiously optimistic. “Do you think we’re getting closer to bringing him down?”
Alfonso chimed in,
“We’re making progress, but we can’t let our guard down. Don Rizzo and Ramos won’t go down without a fight.”
Alejandro added, “We need to keep gathering evidence, especially anything that links them directly to criminal activities.”
The team continued their consistent pursuit of justice, and they were making waves in their mission to expose Don Rizzo and Ramos. Public opinion was shifting, and more people were joining their cause.
One day, Anisa received a call. It was from an unknown number, but she picked up eagerly.
“Hello?” she said, her heart racing.
A familiar voice came through the line. It was her mother, Adelina.
“Anisa, it’s me,” her mother said, her voice filled with emotion.
“I’m safe, and I want you to know that I support what you’re doing.
I’m gathering evidence from within the mansion. We’ll bring your father to justice.”
Tears welled up in Anisa’s eyes as relief washed over her. “Mom, I’ve missed you so much. I’m so glad you’re okay.”
Adelina continued, “I couldn’t call earlier because I had to be careful, but I’ve been collecting documents and information that can expose your father’s crimes.
We’ll share everything with your team.”
Anisa smiled through her tears. “Thank you, Mom. We’ll make sure he pays for everything he’s done.”
“I was the one who sent you guys the annyomous information. When I get more, I will send it to you guys.
I love you my butter cup.” Adeline said on the phone.
“I have to go before your father finds out that I’m making a call since he had seize all of our phones so that we couldn’t call anyone inside the mansion.
We are like prisoners in our own house. But don’t you worry about us dear. We’re fine.
Just continue with your team alright.”
“I will mum.” Anisa said.
With a heavy heart, Anisa replied, “I love you too, Mom.
Please be safe in there. We’ll keep fighting for justice on the outside.”
They exchanged a few more words of love and encouragement before hanging up. Anisa felt a renewed sense of purpose, knowing that her mother was not only safe but also actively working to expose her father’s crimes.
She went outside to tell the rest that her mother had called her.
“Guys, my mother just called me.” Anisa said.
“Really?” Raven asked.
“Is she alright?”
Anisa nodded with a smile. “Yes, she’s okay, and she’s collecting evidence to expose my father’s crimes. She’s on our side.”
Raven’s eyes lit up with hope.
“That’s fantastic news, Anisa.
Having your mother’s support and the evidence she gathers will be a game-changer for us.”
Alfredo chimed in,
“It’s a significant development, and it means we have even more reason to press forward. We can’t let them get away with what they’ve done.”
Anisa’s heart swelled with gratitude for her mother’s bravery and determination.
“We won’t stop until justice is served for all the victims of their crimes.
She has been the one sending those anonymous information which we have been using to expose my father Ramos and Don Rizzo.”
“Your mother Adeline is really brave. I guess that’s where you get your bravery from.” Raven said.
Anisa smiled at Raven’s comment. “Yes, my mom is incredibly brave, and she’s always taught me to stand up for what’s right.”
Raven nodded.
“Well, it’s clear that her courage runs in the family. We’re lucky to have you and your mother on our side.”
“I just hope nothing happens to her because what she’s doing is very dangerous. If my father finds out, I don’t know what he would do.” Anisa said.
“Well let’s just hope nothing happens alright?” Raven said.
Anisa nodded.
“Yeah.”
“So you sleep and let’s continue the fight tomorrow.” Raven said.
“Good night, kiddo.”Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
“Good night, Raven.” Anisa said.
Raven left Anisa’s room. Anisa was unable to sleep because she was worried about her mother.
“Please be safe mother.” she said to herself.
As Anisa lay in bed, her thoughts consumed by worry for her mother, she couldn’t help but hope that their plan to expose the criminals would succeed without any harm coming to her family.
The weight of the mission and the uncertainty of the future hung heavy in the room as she closed her eyes, determined to get some rest before another day of fighting for justice.
The next morning, Anisa groggily made her way to the sitting room, her heart heavy with worry for her mother.
She turned on the TV to catch up on the news, hoping to find some reassurance.
However, as the news report flashed on the screen, her heart sank. The reporter’s solemn voice announced,
“Breaking news: The body of a woman was discovered in a river this morning.”
Anisa’s eyes widened in shock as the image on the screen showed a glimpse of the scene, and she felt her legs go weak.
Her worst fears were realized as the reporter continued,
“The authorities have identified the victim as Adelina, the wife of prominent businessman and politician, Ramos.”
