The Good Girl's Revenge

Chapter 38

Chapter 38

"What? Is it so hard for you to be separated from that person?"

Looking at Meredith who looked anxious, Derek slightly opened his mouth and said sarcastically.

"Of course not." Meredith frowned. Why did Derek always like to distort things like this?

She was only frightened by Parker's words. If the news of her marriage to Derek got out, she would

inevitably be suspected by the Xaviers, and people in the Xaviers would think that she did that

intentionally. She could not bear the consequences.

"No is the best."

Derek ignored her and slammed on the gas pedal. Meredith, who had been preoccupied, forgot to

fasten her seat belt and she was almost knocked into the windshield by the sudden inertia.

She glanced at the expressionless Derek. This man was obviously taking revenge on her. Did he hate

her so much?

Meredith felt a little annoyed and quickly buckled up. "I just happened to meet him when I was picking

up something today. It's not what you think."

Derek didn't say anything. But his eyes clearly showed that he didn't believe her.

"Damian asked me to buy something, and it took so long because people in the store said that it was

unavailable back then and told me to wait. Hence, I met Parker who was going to have afternoon tea.

And as you can see, this is why I take so many things now because they asked me to take those things

at once. If you don't believe it, you can ask the clerk."

Meredith finished in one breath, and she didn't want to explain more. She even felt that what she had

just said was unnecessary.

"Do you need to hold your hands to take things? The lie shall be logical."

Meredith glanced at him. Why did this man have to change it into that kind of sexual thing between

men and women?

"That's because I was in a hurry to make you some coffee and I got boiled and had a few blisters. He

bought some medicine and said he wanted to help me apply it."

Derek glanced at Meredith's fingers which were exposed outside. There were several red blisters on

her fingers. Her fingers originally looked like scallions, but now they looked shocking.

"Then you are really stupid. You can have your hands boiled by making coffee."

Meredith became speechless and didn't want to talk more because of him. She turned her head and

looked out the window. She thought what she said just now was just a waste of time and she just

played her guitar to an ox.

Derek was clearly looking for a reason to make things difficult for her, so how could he listen to her

explanation?

...

Soon, the car stopped below the building of the Xavier Group.

"You go up first," Derek ordered coldly.

"Fine." How did Meredith dare to disobey? She looked at Parker who was following behind them and

felt a little sorry.

"Still stay here?" Derek sensed her hesitation and said coldly.

Meredith recognized the anger in his words and had to go upstairs obediently.

Only then did Derek slowly get out of the car and take a look at Parker, who was following behind, with

an unfriendly expression. "Thank you, Mr. He."

Parker inexplicably became a follower, and he never saw Meredith again. He was a little annoyed. Bur

he still came over on purpose and squeezed out a fake smile. "Mr. Xavier, I never knew that you had to

take care of the private life of your employees."

Private life?

So, they even wanted to develop relationships?

Derek also smiled, but his eyes were cold. "Since it's office time, naturally we can't talk about the so-

called emotions. Besides, how can Mr. Hill be sure that you are not being sentimental?"

Parker's eyes flashed with anger. "Then, I'll wait until she gets off work. After all, a regular company like

Xavier Group won't ask employees to keep working 24 hours a day."

Derek looked at the smile on his face and thought it was an eyesore. "Whatever you do."

After that, he left directly. At this time, a few security guards came over and took out the things that

were in the trunk.

After everyone left, Parker smashed the steering wheel in front of him.

This damn Derek.

...

Meredith went back to the top floor and was about to pack up the things. After a while, Derek came up.

She watched the man get closer and closer and she was about to dodge when a tube of ointment was

thrown in front of her suddenly. "Here, take it and apply it."

Meredith glanced at it. It was a tube of scald ointment. Derek actually bought her medicine. Did pigs

fly?

"I don't want people to say that Xavier Group can't afford medicine and abuse its employees." Derek

looked at Meredith's hesitant expression and felt a little irritated.

When she took Parker's things, he didn't see her declining with all kinds of excuses like this.

"I see, then... Thank you." Meredith didn't understand what Derek was thinking, so she simply stopped

thinking about it.

Anyway, she was scalded because of him. There was nothing wrong with her to take this.

Thinking in this way, Meredith calmly unscrewed the cap of the ointment and applied it to her hand.

Derek's originally slightly-furrowed brows relaxed. "You don't have to clean the cupboard these days.

You can wait until your hands are recovered."

After that, the man left.

Meredith was in a daze. Now her job was to clean and tidy up. What did Derek mean by asking her not

to do it voluntarily?

Was it because she was hurt?

Would this man be so kind?

The next few days were peaceful.

Derek had never bothered Meredith again. Besides packing, she was at ease to accompany him go to

and get off work every day.

Soon, it was the weekend.

Upon waking up in the morning, Meredith received a call from Parker.

"It's a nice day. Let's go out together? I have two tickets for the concert. How about we go out together?

It's pretty hard to get them."

Since Derek didn't allow him to do anything with his staff during work hours, he could ask Meredith to

go out at weekend. After all, he couldn't decide what his staff did at the weekend, could he?

"Ah?" Meredith was a little surprised that Parker would take the initiative to invite her out.

Such a person would become friends with her. This made her feel unreal.

"Sorry about last time, I..."

Meredith remembered that last time Derek deliberately embarrassed Parker. And she was about to Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.

apologize when the man in the bathroom came out.

"Bang!" Hearing what she said, Derek's eyes dimmed and he slammed the door on purpose with a loud

sound.

"What's wrong? It's so loud."

Meredith looked back and saw the man's gloomy face. Did he hear everything?

"No... Nothing..." Meredith was a little perplexed. "Well, I can't appreciate any elegant art like concerts.

I'm afraid I'll disturb your interest. You'd better invite someone else."

After that, Meredith hung up the phone in a hurry.

Derek didn't even look at her and he said, "Go get a towel."

The man had just finished bathing and was wearing only a loose white bathrobe. Drops of water

dripped down from his hair. They slid down the exposed strong muscle on his chest and went into a

place where her eyes could not see. It was becoming more and more fascinating.

This man, even with a few random movements, could exude a fatal attraction. Meredith glanced at him

and quickly lowered her head.
