The Billionaire's Mistake (Anya and Daniel)

MISTAKE 206

Chapter 206: Biting off more than can chew

Anníe already knew there was no hope, but she could not stop trying to convince them, knowing that this was not the response Jasmine would want to hear. “I see. Well, my client has made it clear that she won’t work with Ms. Jones and she’s threatening to walk away from the entire project if Anya isn’t removed.”

“I understand the delicate nature of this situation, but we cannot simply cave to such demands. Anya Jones is a respected member of the Shaw Group team, and we have no intention of removing her from this project.”

Annie almost punched someone. What is with the respected member, valuable member phrase they keep throwing around?

“Then what do you suggest we do?” Annie asked, her tone laced with urgency. “Jasmine has made her decision and we will not be changing our minds.”

“You client is just going to have to bear with it and work with Ms Jones,” one of them had answered. “Your client should be a professional and concentrate on doing her job. Because there is no way to remove her from the team.”

Annie already had a feeling that Anya was not some ordinary staff. She was probably high up the chain and it would be hard to remove her with their contacts, so she ended the call.

“Well?” Jasmine demanded, her eyes narrowed with suspicion.

“I’m sorry, Jasmine, but the Shaw Group is firm on this,” Annie said apologetically. She knew that it was unusual for Jasmine to not get her way.

“They won’t remove that girl from the project, and they’ve made it clear that they expect you to work alongside her.”

“Then, I am walking away. I want to see what they will do. I refuse to work with that little slut. Tell them I’m walking away, and they should find someone else to represent me on this deal.” Jasmine scoffed. She knew her star power. Her fandom were crazy and would attack them if she even leaves a bad comment. She did not need to grovel.

Annie on the other hand, felt a headache coming. Jasmine may have star power, but before

actual power, she could get in trouble.

“Do you have to do this now? Think this through. This is a major project, and walking away could have serious consequences. Maybe we can find a way to…”

“No!” Jasmine interrupted.

“Will you listen to me?” Annie shouted. “This is not your home. Maybe you have been

spending so long as a star you have forgotten where you came from. The only reason why you have been getting a way with removing people from projects is because they were no one. This

looks more complicated. Do you want to loose it all? I said, give me a few days. If I can’t get her out, you will stay and get the money.” Annie scolded Jasmine.

She was tired of this broken tape. She sounded like a child throwing a tantrum. Who was her parent to listen to her every demand?

Jasmine had rarely heard Annie raise her voice so she went quite. After a while, she answered.” Fine. I will give you a few days, but no more,” she said and walked away.

Over the next few days, the tension on the advertisement set was heavy. The crew members couldn’t help but notice the growing hostility between Jasmine and Anya, as the actress seemed determined to make Anya’s life miserable.

Every second, it was Anya she wanted to do the hard jobs, she wanted Anya to act as her assistant on set. She blamed Anya for every single fly that flew past. The crew was getting frustrated.

Jasmine would constantly complain about Anya’s work.

She did not even know what Anya’s job was. Her job was to join the crew and craft a media piece from watching the project. She did not need to do anything. But the crew were happy because Anya actually helped around.

Jasmine on the other hand complained about any decision she felt Anya had a hand in.

Jimmy, the team leader, found himself having to repeatedly step in and remind the actress that the final decisions rested with the director and producers, not her.

“Jasmine, I understand you have concerns, but we’re not going to cater to your every demand, Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.

Jimmy could no more take it.

“Your job, is to act your scenes,” the director joined and basically shouted, “If I want your opinion, I will ask for it.”

Annie was not sure how to salvage Jasmine’s reputation at this point. She could only apologize.

Jasmine’s lips thinned into a disapproving line, but she knew better than to argue with Jimmy. Instead, she turned her attention to Anya to order her around. But Anya was busy ignoring her existence, which only angered her more.

The staff could no longer take it. Did this actress think she was a producer? Why is she throwing her opinion at everything. Soon, people’s excitement towards Jasmine faded. They mostly ignored her, even if she made a comment

But Anya remained calm, refusing to rise to the bait. She continued to so her work without care. At some point it was as though Jasmine did not exist.

As the crew members witnessed this dynamic, their sense of admiration for Anya began to

grow.

They couldn’t help but sigh. They could not believe a person could be so indifferent and

maintain her composure in the face of such blatant hostility,

When they looked to the actress, she looked like a child throwing a tantrum. It was as though this was her father’s house and everyone on set was her slave. Her stardom had dropped in

their eyes.

“Can you believe the way she’s been treating Anya?” one crew member murmured to a colleague during a lunch break. “I can’t believe I thought of her as a star. All I see is a child not happy with the candy she was given. Someone please give me back all my previous admiration

for her.”

His companion nodded in agreement. “I wonder how Anya can ignore her this much. We all already know she is probably someone high up if that crying child could not get her removed by now. But she is just taking it like a champ. I would have thrown that camera by the second day.”

Jasmine, who happened to be returning from the bathroom walking in on this conversation just as the crew members were voicing their opinions. She could not believe they dared to talk about her that way. She was furious. Her eyes narrowed, and she stalked over to the group, her nose basically spitting fire.

“Oh, thrown a camera at me?” she demanded, her voice sharp and accusatory.

The crew members exchanged uneasy glances, suddenly wishing they had chosen a more private location for their discussion.

“N–nothing, Jasmine,” one of them stammered. “We were just, uh, talking about the project, that’s all.”

“Oh, really?” Jasmine sneered, her gaze sweeping across the group. “What part of the project has anything to do with throwing a camera? Why don’t you all repeat what you were saying?”

The crew members shifted uncomfortably, avoiding Jasmine’s piercing stare. No one was willing to risk the wrath of the temperamental actress.

They preferred to just walk away. But Jasmine was not letting them leave. She quickly blocked their path and started throwing spit on them.

“That’s what I thought,” Jasmine spat, her face contorted with rage. “You were so bold when you said it. Where did all your courage go? I am a child? I’m the star of this project, and I won’t be treated like this. If the crew is going to treat me this way, it is best that I leave!”

Jasmine’s outburst had drawn the attention of the rest of the crew, and a hush fell over the set as everyone watched the scene unfold. Anya, who had been quietly observing from a distance, frowned.
