Chapter 171
Chapter 171
It was unbelievable that Elgin went to such lengths to save Letitia!
Didn’t he have a death wish or something? Or maybe, what he was afraid of was losing Letitia!
Vidonia was always on Elgin’s case and never had a single nice thing to say about him.
But now, she was bowled over by his guts and devotion.
Who could resist a guy who’d lay down his life for his girl?
Elgin valued Letitia more than his life!
“That Shela!” Samson gritted his teeth, “I knew that knife stuck in her heart looked familiar… it turns out to be Elgin’s!TM
That very knife wounded Elgin before it got a chance to off Shela!
Letitia asked, “Where’s Shela? Is she still alive?”
“She ain’t kicked the bucket yet, and they’re trying to save her.”
“What?” Vidonia blurted out, “Why bother saving that piece of trash? She deserves to die a hundred times over!” Samson replied, “You just don’t get it. Dying would be too easy for her. Keeping her alive is the real torture. With Elgin’s tricks, he’ll make her life worse than death!”
So, they gotta save Shela, but only just enough to keep her breathing.
Letitia nodded, “She definitely shouldn’t get off that easy…”

“Letitia, go change, grab some grub, and get some rest,” Vidonia said, “You’ve been through hell and back, you
need a break.”
“No, I’ll wait here for Elgin.”
“But can your body take the strain?”
“It’s fine.” Letitia forced a smile, “I can hang in there.”
Vidonia looked at her with concern, “Just don’t scar.”
Letitia gently touched her face.
She never cared much about looks. If someone loved her, they’d love all of her, not just her beauty.
But… every time Elgin would see the scar on her face, he’d probably be racked with guilt.
Lost in thought, Letitia suddenly heard an erupted roar, “Letitia! You jinx!”
Startled, she looked up.
There was Hawley, fuming and unsteady on his feet, his face flushed with anger, “Are you hell-bent on destroying the whole Ramirez family?!”
*Exactly! The Ramirez family is cursed because of you!” Phedra chimed in, “Your dad killed my husband, you got my grandson killed, and now Elgin?!”
Honestly, when Phedra heard Elgin was in danger, her first reaction was relief!
She wished for Elgin’s demise so that her son would be the only heir to the Ramirez family, taking over the inheritance as the new head!
Even if Elgin was saved, it would be best if he ended up disabled!
What a piece of work by Letitia!
Hawley walked over and slapped Letitia across the face, “Elgin is the pillar of the Ramirez family with so much responsibility! If anything happens to him because of you, I’ll never forgive you!”
“Letitia!”
Vidonia cried out, quickly stepping in front of her.
Letitia hung her head, with her hair disheveled.
Hawley was panting with rage, “Disaster! You’re a walking disaster! I should’ve gotten rid of you long ago and sent you far, far away!”
Why wait? Why hide it from Elgin?
Now look at the mess, how’s Hawley gonna cope with this? God forbid it turns into a case of the old sending off the young!
Letitia didn’t say a word. It was her fault Elgin was hurt… her bad.
“I’m sorry,” Letitia said.
‘Sorry doesn’t cut it! If anything happens to Elgin, I, I…” Hawley nearly passed out from holding his breath.
Phedra quickly patted his back, “This Sanders family is the bane of our family and always brings bad karma to us!”
Letitia just listened in silence. But Vidonia didn’t see it that way, so she retorted, “Letitia is already beating herself up, what’s the point of you yelling at her? You should be blaming Shela, she’s the real culprit!”
“Who’s this wild cat?” Phedra scolded, “How dare you talk back to us!”
“I’ll say what I want, and right now, I want to speak up! It’s because Shela couldn’t get what she wanted that Letitia got kidnapped and even disfigured now! And why did Shela do it? Because she used to be Elgin’s woman!”
Letitia tugged at her, “Vidonia, stop.”
“You are hurt and humiliated, and even slapped around now. I must say for you!”
Phedra reached out to shove Vidonia, “Who do you think you are? Get out of here… Make yourself scarce, or I’ll have security drag you out!”
That’s when Samson grabbed Phedra’s wrist and flung her aside.
“She’s with me,” Samson said, “Phedra, you better show some respect.”
Phedra darkened his face.
One after another, they were all untouchable people! Even the wild cat had Samson’s backing!
Hawley coldly said, “Letitia, you should go too!”
“No,” she refused, “I’ll wait here for…”
“You don’t deserve to!” Hawley cut her off, “I can’t stand the sight of you right now. We’ll settle the score in a few days, and you better never show your face to Elgin again!”
Hawley had already suffered the loss of a son, he couldn’t bear the grief of losing a grandson!
*Come on! Hawley ordered, “Take Letitia back to Ivory Towers and keep a close eye on her!”
The bodyguards were ready to move in.
But Letitia said clearly, “You can’t touch me, I’m Elgin’s lawfully wedded wife!”
There was a spark in her eyes with overwhelming determination.
She had a bit of Elgin in her.
They’ve been through thick and thin as a couple, and she’s definitely picked up a thing or two from Elgin!
“You’re his wife, but I’m his grandpa! The former head of the Ramirez family!” Hawley roared. “Come on, does nobody listen to me anymore?”
Letitia cranked up the volume: “Who would dare?” She stood her ground, facing off against Hawley.
After a while, Letitia softened her tone. “I’ll head back to Ivory Towers, but not just yet. At the very least, I need to see Elgin safe and sound, out of the OR, before I can breathe easy.”
“You’re a jinx! Your Sanders family is the bane of the Ramirez family!” Hawley banged his cane on the ground forcefully. “Letitia, if you care about Elgin, you’d stay as far away as possible!”
The Ramirez family kept harping on this, almost making Letitia second-guess herself…
She wondered if she and Elgin were star-crossed and doomed to be apart.
When she was lost in thought, suddenly the door to the OR swung open. NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.
Letitia’s heart skipped a beat. She dashed to the front filled with anticipation as the doctor came out.
“How is he?” she asked anxiously. “Is he awake? Did his hand make it?”
