Reclaiming My Broken Luna

Chapter 215: Missing Dress

Astrid's POV

I sat in front of the vanity table as my attendants carefully did my makeup. I watched as their skillful hands placed paint all over my face, enhancing my features.

I stared awkwardly at the mirror, not used to having someone touching my face and doing my makeup for me.

When I was a Luna, I never had any attendants. I used to do all the work by myself, including some jobs that were supposed to be for Killian.Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.

Although I was called Luna, I never felt like one. It always felt like I was just Killian's personal secretary. I felt nothing more than just a subordinate in the Silvermoon Pack. This is the first time I had someone serving me. As a person who used to serve, this felt very unusual.

"There, Miss! You look so beautiful, do you like it?" The makeup artist had a huge and proud smile on her face as she stood behind me and looked at me through the mirror.

My mouth fell wide open when I saw myself in the mirror. I fell speechless. I was literally staring at the improved version of myself.

This is my first time having full makeup on my face. As a person who trains and sweats every day, it was impractical for me to wear makeup.

Besides, I was too busy to learn anything outside Pack lessons. The only time I could wear makeup is when there are events where guests outside the Pack are invited.

Even then, I could only wear lipstick and blush, which were the easiest thing to apply. I had bought other makeup back then; however, I never learned how to use them. Somehow, I only looked like a clown whenever I wore more makeup than I should afterward. I guess a person couldn't be skilled in all things. I might be a great warrior and a leader, but I'm not great at things that women should naturally be good at.

"Of all the people I worked with, you are my favorite. You are naturally beautiful. You look like you are already wearing makeup even when you're not," she proudly told me.

I chuckled. "I couldn't be that beautiful," I answered. If I was really pretty, would Killian still fall in love with someone else?

"You are perfect, Astrid. Your skin is naturally even and flawless, there's nothing for me to cover. Your brows also looked so natural that I only used clear gel to groom it. Since this is a special event, I only applied makeup on you to give you that dramatic look," the makeup artist explained.

I remained silent, not knowing what to say. Since she's a professional, she knows what she's talking about. Meanwhile, I really don't have any idea about these kinds of things.

"All that's left is the dress, and I'm sure you are going to look wonderful," she added with a look of excitement on her face.

The dress should have come first before the makeup. I already ordered someone to bring the dress here, but she still hasn't come back.

The time was ticking, and the ceremony was about to start; we had no choice but to do the makeup first without even knowing what color my dress would be.

A knock on the door interrupted us. One of the attendants came to look, and after a minute, she came back in a hurry with a worried expression on her face. "Miss Astrid, the sewing manager is here. He wished to talk to you," she muttered with her head lowered.

"Sewing manager?" I asked, not knowing what that was.

"He said he is the person in charge of your dress. He says he has something important to tell you," she softly replied.

A knot formed in the pit of my stomach as I wondered what could be the problem. I already knew something was wrong when the dress didn't arrive on time.

Without the dress, how could I face all the guests? I would only be ridiculed. People would think that I'm an unwanted illegitimate daughter.

Before my thoughts could go down in a spiral, I took a deep breath and steeled myself together before standing up to face the sewing manager.

Since a problem was already made, all I could do was fix it to avoid the scary thoughts that I just had.

"Where is the dress?" I demanded instantly as soon as I met the sewing manager standing outside the door of my room.

"Miss Astrid, please come with me and I'll explain you everything," the sewing manager pleaded with his head bowed down.

My eyes turned cold as I pinned him

down with an intense gaze. If Alpha Theron found out about this, he wouldn't just be removed from his job. Hewould also be punished for dereliction of duty and for ruining the whole event.

Without the dress, the ceremony wouldn't be completed.

"If Alpha Theron found out about this-" My words were cut off short when the sewing manager suddenly lowered his head down to knee level and started begging. "Please Miss Astrid! Please have mercy on us!" He begged desperately, making me fall quiet.

My initial plan was to bring this matter to Alpha Theron so he could handle this problem. However, my heart instantly turned soft when he started begging desperately in front of him. Seeing his sincerity, how could I turn him down?

"Fine," I replied. "I won't bring this matter to Alpha Theron as long as you explain everything and be able to provide a dress that I could wear to the ceremony," I muttered out of mercy for him. en

I couldn't help but feel bad for him, knowing how Alpha Theron could possibly handle this matter and make things bad for him.
