Chapter 94
Chapter 94
She tried to ignore his hand, looking apologetically at Mason, “Mr. Fletcher, thank you so much for today” NôvelDrama.Org: text © owner.
Mason shook his head. “It was the least I could do.” He hesitated for a moment before taking out two band-aids from his pocket and handing them to Celeste, “I asked the waiter for these.” Pointing at Celeste’s wrist, he added, “I only treated the wound briefly earlier. Be careful not to get it infected in this hot weather.”
Celeste was startled.
The wound on her wrist was from climbing through a window earlier. Since it didn’t bleed much, she only cleaned it and didn’t treat it.
The wound hadn’t hurt much until Liam touched it, causing the pain to intensify, making her want to break free. Liam hadn’t noticed this detail, but Mason had during their brief interactions. At that moment, Celeste felt weirdly emotional.
Just as she was about to say thank you, Liam snatched the band-aids and said indifferently. “Thanks, but it’s fine. I’ll take care of my own people.”
The atmosphere, which had slightly eased, suddenly tensed up again.
Nicolas felt like his head was about to explode due to tension.
The atmosphere at the scene was bizarre for a moment.
“Mason!” Kaylee ran over excitedly, grabbing Mason’s arm, “I knew you were lying when you said you had a girlfriend!”
Nicolas breathed a sigh of relief, never finding Kaylee so adorable. He chimed in with a laugh, “How could he possibly have a girlfriend? Hurry up and introduce your friends to him, maybe you’ll help him get out of the single life.”
Kaylee pouted, “Mason wouldn’t be interested in them.” She glanced at Celeste, seemingly feeling a little guilty, and turned away, calling out, “Hi, Liam and Celeste.”
Celeste gave a cold smile but said nothing. She knew now was not the time to settle personal grudges.
“Mason, dance with me. Some guy keeps bothering me, and it’s so annoying. Help me block him.”
Kaylee begged him sweetly, completely unlike her usual arrogant and domineering self.
Celeste looked at her and suddenly realized that Kaylee had come to this event which she usually wasn’t interested in, probably for
Mason.
Kaylee liked Mason.
This conclusion made all her previous actions make sense, and it was no wonder she sometimes held back her sharpness. She wasn’t afraid of Liam, but she was afraid of her true self being exposed and disliked by Mason.
Mason initially wanted to refuse, but Kaylee persisted. With Nicolas fanning the flames, he was eventually dragged onto the dance floor.
After Mason left, Celeste finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Liam’s reaction speed was pretty fast, but he might not have caught on just yet. Once he figured it out, though, he would definitely ask her what kind of trouble she’d gotten into.
There was no way she can outsmart Liam. If she accidentally spilled the beans while chatting, then that would be a disaster
If Liam found out she was planning to sue Sydney’s fans, he would probably try to stop her before she even made a move.
“Should we go check it out?”
Liam’s mocking voice came from behind her.
Celeste snapped back to reality, ignored him, and looked away.
He glanced at the white dress she was wearing, his gaze becoming a bit more serious. “Where’ve you been? What’s with that outfit? What happened to your clothes?”
The tone of his voice was like saying, ‘Where on earth did you go wandering off to? And what’s with that ratty outfit?
