Chapter 99
Chapter 99
Kenneth used the word "again."
Arabella recalled the time when she almost fell out with Kenneth because of Sadie. At that time, she
never thought that Kenneth knew Stephany. Stephany was the person she hated the most. The one
and only one. Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
Arabella lowered her long eyelashes, "How did Stephany save you?"
Arabella was really curious. For a person like Stephany to save someone, it would be a miracle
equivalent to the sun rising from the west.
As she mentioned the event that happened more than seven years ago, Kenneth's thoughts seemed to
have returned to that icy place. He went there from Faykarta and almost lost his life.
The snow on that day was heavy, and the weather was bitingly cold. His limbs were so cold until being
stiff. Later, his eyelids became heavier and heavier. As he slowly closed his eyes, he could feel that he
was losing his life. He was about to die.
However, at that instant, a pair of tender hands hugged him. He heard a young and attractive voice.
That person was speaking with nervousness and anxiety, "Mr., what's wrong with you? Wake up
quickly, don't sleep!"
Someone came and hugged him.
At that time, he really wanted to open his eyes and take a look at the girl who was calling him.
However, he couldn't open his eyes at all.
Vaguely, he could feel that the girl had a difficult time moving him to a nearby cave. Although he
couldn't open his eyes, he could clearly sense the girl was picking up branches to make a fire for
warmth. He was lying on the straw pile while her hand touched his forehead. He was as cold as the ice
cellar.
"Mr., I won't let you die. You must hang in there. If you die, your family will be very sad."
Soon, her soft and small body went into his arms. She hugged him tightly.
At that time, Kenneth had just turned twenty years old. It was a time when boys grew into men. He had
never hugged a girl before. When he reached out to hug her into his arms because of warmth, it was
the first time he knew that a girl's body could be so soft, like water.
He could also smell the sweet body scent emanating from the girl. The fragrance was slowly seducing
his mind and had attracted him.
He pulled through and survived.
For so many years, Kenneth had never forgotten that night. When he was on the verge of a desperate
situation, a pair of small hands saved him. Snow was falling outside of the cave. The girl obediently
slept in his arms while passing on her soft and firm energy to him.
The next day, the girl woke up first. While looking at the weak Kenneth, the girl said, "Mr., it's dawn
now. We need to get out of here, but I'm not strong enough to carry you. I'll go out and call for someone
to save you now. Don't you run around, okay?"
The girl was about to leave.
He grabbed her slender wrist and handed her a jade pendant he always carried around with him.
Although it was unfortunate that he couldn't open his eyes to look at her face, he told her in a hoarse
voice, word by word, "I'll come back to find you."
The girl ran out. People who were looking for him soon came and took him away.
Later, Stephany appeared in his sight with the jade pendant and called him with a soft and sweet voice,
"Mr., you've finally come. I've been waiting for you."
Kenneth lowered his eyes and pulled his thoughts back from his memories. Arabella was asking him
how Stephany had saved him. Kenneth pursed his thin lips lightly, "It's already a thing of the past."
He didn't tell her.
Actually, Arabella could understand Kenneth. Kenneth was born noble and was someone who had
received the highest quality of education. It was an indisputable fact that he was indebted to Stephany
since she had saved his life. He couldn't talk about the details behind Stephany's back due to courtesy.
It was a basic manner a man should have.
Arabella didn't ask further. In fact, she regretted it when she asked the question. Because no matter
what he said, she would be unhappy.
A smart man should act like him by skating over the question.
