Chapter 508
Chapter 508
Liliana sat in the passenger seat and saw Kenneth still looking at Arabella as their car drove away. She
bit her lips in frustration. "Ken, I want to visit Mrs. Sharon. I studied nutrition and can create a meal plan
tailored to her needs."
Liliana knew Kenneth loved his grandmother dearly, so she planned to win Mrs. Sharon's favor. She
had confidence in her skills as a nutritionist and believed she could improve Mrs. Sharon's appetite and
overall health. This would bring her closer to Kenneth.
Kenneth could no longer see Arabella behind them. He turned his gaze back and nodded. "Grandma's
appetite has been declining. I was thinking of hiring a professional nutritionist to take care of her. Let
me call her first and see if she's open to the idea. If she is, we can go together."
"Alright," Liliana said, smiling obediently.
Kenneth dialed the number, and the melodic ringtone played before Mrs. Sharon answered. Her elderly
voice came through, "Hello, Ken."
"Grandma, how's your appetite today? Liliana wants to visit you and create a personalized meal plan.
We can come over right now."
Mrs. Sharon paused momentarily on the other end and suddenly asked, "Ken, are you with Liliana
now?"
Liliana quickly spoke up, "Yes, Mrs. Sharon. Ken picked me up after school today. We want to come
and see you."
Mrs. Sharon hesitated on the other end and declined, "You don't need to come over. I have a good
appetite today but feel a bit tired. I'll take a nap. If there's nothing urgent, I'll hang up now."
Mrs. Sharon hung up the phone without waiting for a response.
Liliana's enthusiasm was instantly extinguished. Even a fool could tell that Mrs. Sharon was not fond of
her. She pouted her red lips in dismay. "Ken, did I do something wrong? Mrs. Sharon hasn't liked me
since she came to Hardgrad seven years ago."
Kenneth's deep and narrow eyes flickered with something. His grandmother's behavior was truly
unusual. She hung up the phone because he was with Liliana.
If he remembered correctly, his grandmother's greatest wish was for him to marry and have children.
Logically, when Liliana appeared by his side, his grandmother should have been overjoyed. Why was
she showing such coldness and rejection?
Kenneth kept his eyes forward, his voice low and magnetic. "Don't overthink about it. Let's visit her
another day. I'll take you home."
Took her home?
Did that mean there were no plans for the evening?
"Ken, let's have dinner together," Liliana looked at him expectantly, hoping for a romantic candlelit
dinner. Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
"I'm busy tonight. I already have plans," Kenneth rejected her.
Liliana felt disappointed. "Alright then, let's make plans for another day."
...
Kenneth dropped Liliana off at her house and then drove with Rylie to a bar. He indeed had plans.
Jared had come from Hardgrad to Faykarta.
Kenneth sat on a dark red sofa in the luxurious private room and glanced at Jared beside him. "What
brought you to Faykarta?"
Jared, as handsome as ever, with a pair of golden-rimmed glasses that reflected his cold and
indifferent black eyes, said, "I came here for a meeting. I'll go back in a couple of days. How are you
doing?"
Kenneth picked up a highball glass and elegantly sipped the red wine inside. "I'm doing well."
"There are rumors about a marriage alliance between the Lucero and Coffey families. You seem to be
getting close to the daughter of the Coffey family. Do you have plans to marry her?" Jared asked.
Kenneth swirled the aromatic red wine in his glass and looked at Jared. "My private area was cut
before. Did you know about that?"
He couldn't remember the details, but it happened in Hardgrad. Jared, his brother who grew up with
him, might have some knowledge about it.
