Chapter 33 Meet Jacob Again
The lady wondered, and her daughter stared at Lucia.
As soon as Lucia came along, all the women who passed her suddenly seemed ordinary.
When Lucia came to him, Arthur’s eyes became soft. He answered softly, “This is Lucia, CEO of Jibillion Inc.”
“What?” The lady was expecting Arthur to say Lucia was a great socialite, but when he mentioned the name and her position, she was shocked. Lucia… Wasn’t she the woman who had an affair at Athegate and became famous five years ago?
Lucia was used to the questioning look in the lady’s eyes. Standing next to Arthur, she knew she had nothing to care about. So she answered calmly, “Hello, ma’am. I’m Lucia, a friend of Arthur’s.”
The lady froze for a moment, then unconsciously looked in a certain direction of the meeting, and then left with her daughter after a few polite words. When the others saw that the two had left, they made excuses and left, leaving only Arthur and Lucia in the corner.
“Lucia, don’t mind.” Arthur certainly knew what the reason for the lady’s reaction was. He lifted his hand and held a strand of her hair behind her ear for Lucia, softly soothing her in his own way.
“Why should I?” Lucia smiled at Arthur and said, “Isn’t that where the truth lies?” As she spoke, she gave Arthur’s arm a playful touch.
Arthur was the truth, and the truth was by her side. Lucia was not afraid of gossip.
Arthur laughed, and when he found that Lucia didn’t mind, he said, “Eduard looks very proud tonight.”
“Have you been watching?” Lucia suddenly asked.
“Of course. I’ve been watching you since I got here. I hate to see you standing next to him. I wanted to find a corner to be quiet, but I was surrounded by a crowd of people.” Arthur frowned, remembering the bunck of women just now.
Lucia thought Arthur did not care, but when he expressed his dissatisfaction so plainly and even rudely, the corners of her mouth curled up involuntarily, and then she asked him mischievously, “Then why don’t you come and get me away?”
Arthur gave a cold snort and looked in Eduard’s direction. Then he replied nonchalantly, “Not to embarrass him too much.”
When Lucia heard Arthur say this, she burst out laughing. Indeed, Arthur had to think about Eduard, because she knew that if Arthur came, she would go with him.
Eduard also noticed Lucia’s departure at this time, but because Arthur was standing in a slightly off corner, he looked for a while and did not find Lucia. He quickly ended his conversation with his friend and wandered around the venue looking for Lucia.
Arthur and Lucia were talking in an unobtrusive corner, undisturbed. Several times the waiter passed by with the wine, and each time Arthur refused to allow Lucia to take the wine, only bringing her some small cakes. Although she had some when she was socializing with Eduard.
Although Lucia complained, she didn’t really want to drink, and she felt warm in her heart. They chatted, and when they stood together, they were never dull or lonely.
They did not notice that, not far away, a line of sight was closely following them.
JTP Group was Athegate’s leading enterprise. Jacob and Poppy were guests at Mr. Kaur’s birthday party. But Poppy was away on a business trip, so she couldn’t make it back. Jacob came alone tonight, and Poppy specifically told him he wasn’t allowed to have a date.
Jacob was in a bad mood, but when Lucia appeared in the banquet hall with Eduard, Jacob’s eyes locked on her. He felt amazed, unbelievable, and a little unwilling.
Seeing Lucia smiling at Arthur’s side, Jacob’s unwillingness was greatly magnified and he could not help feeling jealous.
He had no idea that Lucia had hooked up with Arthur.
Lucia did not know she was secretly peeping at this time but found Eduard, who was looking for her in the hall. She remembered that she had been away for a long time, and said apologetically to Arthur.
“Arthur, I’m gonna get over there.”
Lucia wanted to stay with Arthur, but she had work to do. Yeah, socializing with Eduard was work for her.
“I know. Come and meet me at the end of the day. We’ll go home together.” With great reluctance, Arthur said the word “go home” perfectly naturally.
Lucia smiled and nodded, then whispered in Arthur’s ear, “You’ve been drinking. I’ll drive later.” Then she walked off in Eduard’s direction.
Arthur watched Lucia leave, then smiled softly as he looked down at the glass of wine in his hand, smiling softly.
Lucia walked towards Eduard past an open window. As she walked slowly past, she heard a voice from the side that was all too familiar to her, the same voice that had appeared in her nightmares.
“Lucia, long time no see.”
Lucia just took one look at Jacob and started to move on, but Jacob’s words stopped her in her tracks again.
“Looks like you’re doing pretty well, sheltered by Eduard at Jibillion Inc, and hooked with Arthur on the outside.”
Every word Jacob said was so repulsive and sarcastic that Lucia frowned. She turned her head again and stared at Jacob with her eyes like stars.
“What, did I say something wrong?”
When Lucia stared at him coldly, Jacob rejoiced, as if he had struck a blow in her heart.

Jacob took a sudden, irrational step forward, put his hand on Lucia’s slender wrist, and said angrily.
“What? You can’t even talk to me anymore?”
Jacob’s strength was immense, and Lucia felt pain in her wrist. She frowned and stared at Jacob coldly as if she were looking at a veritable madman.
Fortunately, they were standing in a remote position, and not many people noticed. But there were still some curious stares. Lucia was thinking about how to get rid of Jacob when she saw Arthur coming from the side.
