Chapter 28 Don't You Want to Have Grandchildren?

In the living room.

Edmond and his mother, Kalinda, sat on the sofa watching the TV.

He was lazily munching on the nuts, but his gaze always subconsciously glanced toward the stairs.

Sure enough, Kalinda noticed the small gestures made by him.

She sneered coldly and started spilling her guts.

"Only now you care about your wife? It's too late. She had brazenly cheated on you, and it's clear that she doesn't want you anymore! See! I reminded you back then in the hospital, but you still failed to capture her heart. Serve you right."

Edmond knew that his mother was adding insult to his injuries purposely.

"That's just a way of fun between me and her." Edmond rebutted.

Kalinda continued provoking her son.

"I went online and looked up the male celebrity, Eli Preston. He came from a modeling background and had a great body figure. He is handsome and considerate and has never been in a scandal before. If I were Licia, I'd pick him instead of you."

Edmond glanced at his mother and asked slyly, "Don't you want to have grandchildren?"

Kalinda instantly changed her expression.

"Of course, I do want a grandchild! But do you have the ability to do that? Look, your wife is already running away with another man." Kalinda countered his question.

"Soon, just wait for it," Edmond replied smugly.

Kalinda's eyes lit up upon hearing his answer, and asked, "Really? There's hope for you guys to get together again?"

Edmond leaned on the sofa and absently flipped through the channel on the TV with a smile, "Yes."

......

When Alicia helped Peter down the stairs, she noticed Kalinda chatting happily with Edmond.

Her mother-in-law's face was filled with joy, and she was even happier when she saw Alicia descending the stairs.

"Licia, why don't you stay over for dinner too?" Kalinda asked gleefully. This is the property of Nô-velDrama.Org.

Before Alicia could reply, Peter had already waved Kalinda's suggestion off.

"I've arranged for her to go on a business trip. Her flight will be this afternoon, so she's leaving now." Peter informed everyone.

"What?" Kalinda exclaimed.

She was stunned and turned her head to look at her son.

A hint of surprise flashed across Edmond's eyes too.

Alicia nodded and said, "There's a company project I'm responsible for, and I need to meet the other party in person. Yet they have only a day free to meet up with me."

Kalinda sighed sadly.

It looked like today there was no way for her to pull the same trick and have them stay overnight in the Agos Mansion.

However, Edmond calmly reacted as he stood up and picked up his car keys.

"Let's go. I'll give you a ride." Edmond offered.

Alicia nodded and accepted his offer, and both of them bid goodbye to the elderly couple and left.

Kalinda looked at her husband and asked in disbelief, "What exactly did you talk to Licia about?'

Peter did not hide anything from Kalinda and told her everything.

"I told her that if she doesn't like Ed anymore, she could get a divorce at any time at her will."

Kalinda let out a short exclamation, and she was full of worries.

"So what did Licia reply? Is she really getting a divorce? It's only been a week since their marriage, and why didn't you talk her out of it?" Kalinda asked worriedly.

Peter chuckled and gave a meaningful look at Kalinda before explaining, "I purposely suggested that to her..."

......

In the car, both of them were very quiet.

The way Edmond drove the car was quite handsome as he held onto the steering wheel with one hand. When he stopped at the traffic light, his finger tapped onto the wheel rhythmically, and his whole posture gave off a relaxing vibe.

Alicia tried to steal a glance at him, and she was caught in the act.

Edmond looked at her with a grin.

"Do you have something to tell me?" Edmond asked.

She pursed her lips and replied, "Just focus on your driving."

"Which city are you going to?" Edmond inquired.

"The Blendford City." Alicia answered.

"So you've bought the ticket?" Edmond continued asking.

"Not yet. But I'll buy it when I get to the airport." Alicia responded.

Edmond stopped inquiring any further.

To Alicia's surprise, he did not send her back to her apartment but instead brought her to the villa they got as their wedding house.

"Why did you bring me here?" Alicia asked confusingly.

Edmond replied smoothly, "To pack the luggage."

"But most of my clothes are back in my apartment," Alicia asked again.

"I know, but all my clothes are here," Edmond answered.

Alicia was speechless as she did not understand what was going on.

When she saw Edmond packing up his luggage, she finally realized the meaning of his answers.

Alicia could not help but ask, "What are you doing?"

"Don't you get it?" Edmond responded.

He patted his black luggage and replied smugly, "I'm coming with you."
