Chapter 130
“Ms. Lewis, you look stunning in that dress,” Dominick’s secretary complimented with a smile.
But Lola wasn’t happy at all. She didn’t want to go to the party with Dominick.
If someone recognized her and it made the news, it would be a disaster. Just a few days ago, there were rumors about her and Dominick. Any more incidents would be unimaginable.
How would she explain it to Ethan? How would she explain it to Scott?
Just thinking about these questions gave Lola a headache.
The secretary noticed Lola’s mood and said gently, “Ms. Lewis, you are so beautiful. You should smile more. You look even better when you smile.”
Lola stared at herself in the mirror, lost in thought.
She was indeed beautiful. With light makeup, she was even more stunning.
The ivory dress perfectly outlined her sexy figure, making her smooth skin look like a peeled egg.
Such a face could be both a blessing and a curse.
If Dominick was treating her this way because of her looks, Lola would rather not have this stunning face.
“Ms. Lewis, shall we go?”
Lola said nothing, and the secretary, not wanting to push further, respectfully stepped aside to let Lola pass.
Lola snapped out of her thoughts and nodded slightly. “Yes, thank you.”
The assistant opened the door and followed her.
“Mr. Sinclair, Ms. Lewis is ready,” the secretary announced cheerfully.
Dominick, who was busy with paperwork, turned to look at Lola.
He was slightly stunned. It had been a long time since he had seen Lola so dressed up.
She looked almost like she did on their wedding day.
The way she looked in her wedding dress had amazed him for a long time. Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.
It was a pity he hadn’t recognized his feelings back then, so he missed the chance.
Dominick regretted it deeply. Now that Lola was by his side, he determined to cherish her.
“You look beautiful.”
Lola remained expressionless, her voice cold. “When are we leaving?”
Dominick checked the time and nodded slightly. “Now.”
The party was at Valis Club, a place where only the most influential people gathered.
O
Dominick had only been in Aerionia for a short time but already stood on the same level as the bigwigs there. His
capabilities were well recognized.
Wherever Dominick appeared, many people who wanted to curry favors would show up.
Dominick disliked this kind of atmosphere, so his outings were usually secretive.
But this time, Dominick didn’t want to keep it a secret.
“Ryan, spread the news that I’m attending this party. Do it quickly.”
Lola paused, frowning at Dominick. “Why?
“Dominick, are you doing this on purpose? The fewer people at the party, the better. I don’t want anyone to see us together and create unnecessary trouble!”
Ryan’s car was already parked next to them, but Lola didn’t want to get in.
Dominick knew she would be unhappy hearing this, but this decision was non–negotiable.
“Get in the car.”
Lola stood still, and her eyes filled with dissatisfaction. She was beautiful, and this expression on her face made
her look a bit like she was pouting.
“I’m not getting in the car.
“This is your–plan, isn’t it? You want more people to see us together.
“And then the media will report it. Our scandal will come out again, damaging my reputation and my company.”
Lola gritted her teeth. “I have a fiancé. If Scott sees us together, he’ll be upset. Social events are fine, but please
take back your order!”
Fiancé again!
In just two hours, Lola had mentioned Scott repeatedly, making Dominick feel irritated.
He grabbed Lola’s wrist, pulling her toward him.
“Hey! Dominick, what are you doing? Let me go!” Lola struggled in panic.
But she was no match for Dominick. He easily pushed her into the car and then got in himself.
“Stop it. Our contract clearly states you have to listen to me.”
Lola tried to open the door, but Dominick pulled her into his arms.
He leaned in close, whispering in her ear, “Lola, be good. I told you I won’t do anything to harm you.”
His voice was low, seductive, and dangerous, and his warm breath on her ear made Lola shiver and instinctively pull back.
“Dominick, even though we have a contract, I hope you can behave yourself and not do anything strange!”
Lola felt like she was about to break down in just two hours!
Dominick ignored her protests, leaning in closer with inexplicable actions, making it hard for Lola to cope.
Dominick was just trying to distract her. Meanwhile, Ryan had already started driving.
“Lola, you’re blushing.”
Lola glared at him shyly and angrily, then turned away, refusing to speak to him.
Dominick was being completely unreasonable!
Lola couldn’t understand why Dominick was doing this. Was it to make her feel awkward?
Or was he trying to stir up trouble between her and Scott with rumors?
Dominick’s actions were incomprehensible, making Lola feel nothing but fear toward him.
He had always been mysterious, but now that mystery turned into fear.
Her mind was a mess until the car finally stopped.
“Mr. Sinclair, we’ve arrived,” Ryan said, turning to Dominick.
Dominick got out and walked around to open Lola’s door, acting very gentlemanly.
“Let’s go.”
13:08 Mon, 15 Juli
Even though Lola didn’t want to, she had no choice.
There were already many people waiting in front of Valis Club.
They were all dressed elegantly, obviously wealthy.
Lola followed behind Dominick, unsure who these people were waiting for.
“Mr. Sinclair, you’re here!”
“Mr. Sinclair! What an honor to see you today!”
When they noticed Dominick, they all eagerly approached.
“Mr. Sinclair, I heard you were attending this event, so I cleared
my schedule.”
An older man smiled, trying to get close to Dominick.
Dominick nodded slightly. “Hello.”
More and more people gathered around, their eager voices blending together.
“I heard you were coming to this event, and I didn’t believe it. But here you are.”
“Right, good thing I came.”
