Love Of Wind And Clouds

Chapter 39

When Nancy walked out of the president’s room, it was already lunchtime, so she rushed back to put away her documents and quickly went to the cafeteria.

When she got there, she saw Stephen sitting there waiting, he even took the food for her.

The employees have gradually gotten used to the deputy general director coming here to eat with them, so they no longer discuss anything.

When he finished eating, he gave her the photos taken yesterday by the riverbank.

“You worked so fast.”

“Do you like them? Looks very soulful.”

“True and nostalgic yellow color of the eighties. I like them very much. Thank you.”

Looking at the girl’s face, Stephen felt sad again. He wanted to hold her hand and travel everywhere. He wanted to take a set of photos for her in the places they would go through and also photos revolving around her daily life on the farm, some popular, some luxurious.

What Stephen told his parents about his plans after marriage was directed towards Nancy. Before meeting her, he despised marriage.

In the early afternoon of the workday, Daria walked into the office and gave the project documents for Stephen to sign to send to the accounting department to pay the subcontractors.

Looking at his gloomy face, she felt uncomfortable.

“Is the deputy general director free tonight? I just bought a car, let’s go wash it.”

“When did you buy?” Stephen did not look up, his hands continuously scribbled on the paper.

“It was delivered this afternoon.”

“Buying a car is like buying a fish, right? Miss Daria is really rich.”

“I’m not as rich as the deputy general director. You can even buy a yacht.”

“It seems like you like answering questions with me, huh? What time?”

“Seven o’clock in the evening.”

“Okay.”

Daria happily carried the documents down to the accounting room, her lips softly singing the melody of a song.

In this place, she only knew Dylan and Stephen. Dylan is like a thousand-year-old iceberg, asking him out is more difficult than going to heaven, so she can only invite Stephen.

In the evening, Nancy took out the new white dress she bought in the afternoon, put it on, looked at herself in the mirror, and nodded with satisfaction.

She intends to wear it to the company’s year-end event.

Because the new work is approaching its final chapters, she tries to stay awake a little longer.

Occasionally she looked through the gap in the curtain and still saw Dylan standing there. The white shirt makes him look thinner.

She sighed, turned off the light, and sat still for a moment. A moment later, guessing he had left, she turned the light back on and continued typing.

It wasn’t until late at night that she finished writing the new chapter. Out of habit, she looked through the gap again.

Seeing that the car was still parked there, she was slightly surprised and opened the curtain to look down.

Below, on the side of the road, at the sewer, there was a man with his head down, looking like a drunk.

Nancy opened her eyes wide and looked. Realizing that this figure was familiar, she quickly ran down the stairs, opened the gate, and rushed to the other side of the street.

“Stephen, why are you here? Are you okay? Why do you drink so much alcohol?”

Stephen was so drunk that he couldn’t stand. He leaned back and forth and then threw himself at Nancy.

She looked around but the street was empty, so she tried her best to help him cross the street and enter the house.

After placing Stephen on the sofa, she quickly got him water to drink and then used a towel dipped in hot water to wipe his face.

Stephen grabbed her hand tightly, his eyes were bloodshot.

“Nancy, I… I like…”

Before he finished speaking, he fell onto the sofa and closed his eyes. Nancy quickly used a pillow to block his back so he could lie on his side because she was afraid he would choke.

All night long, she didn’t dare go back to the bedroom, so she just sat and watched. Finally, she was so tired that she fell asleep on the sofa.NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.

When the morning light shined through the glass window, Stephen woke up, his head hurt like he had been hit with a hammer.

Seeing the girl of his dreams standing in front of him, he was startled and quickly stood up.

“Nancy, why are you at my house?”

“Deputy general manager, you drank too much alcohol and lost your memory, right? I just made a glass of lemonade for you. Wash your face then drink.”

After finishing speaking, Nancy turned around and went to the kitchen, quickly making an egg and vegetable roll sandwich.

Stephen leisurely followed her and stood against the wall, looking at her. He doesn’t remember how he came here.

Yesterday, after going to dinner and drinking some wine with Daria, he returned.

On the way home, he was so sad that he stopped at a bar, intending to drink some wine to ease his sadness. But the more drunk he got, the more sad he became. And when he was too sad, he missed Nancy, so he drove here.

After washing his face, he looked at himself in the mirror and was extremely dissatisfied. He let the girl he liked see his worthless appearance.

He didn’t know if he said something that shouldn’t have been said yesterday or not.

Holding a sandwich in his hand, he ate while secretly looking at Nancy. Seeing that she was still very natural, he felt somewhat reassured.

“Yesterday you said you liked…” Nancy spoke up.

“Huh? I said I like…” Stephen looked scared.

“When you said that, you fainted so I didn’t know.” She laughed.

“Ah. It’s just a habit, when I’m drunk I like to drink ice water.” He smiled wryly.

“Are you so drunk that it’s become a habit? Stephen, it’s not good to drink too much alcohol. It’s too dangerous to drive when you’re drunk.”

“I made you worry, I’m sorry, next time I will restrain myself.”
