Love At Last

Chapter 49 – Enjoying the stranger’s company.

Lily

With the way Cayden’s eyes travelled around my body when he came in the room earlier, then I knew that I looked good.

Ever since he touched my back when he was trying to help me with my zip, I have been feeling weird ‘down there’. I didn’t know why I was feeling that way and I just hoped it would go, but when he slipped his hand around my waist and told me that we were going for dinner, the feeling increased and I had to rub my thighs together to feel better.

Now that we were at the dinner, I knew that I looked good with the way so many people were smiling at me and giving me so many compliments.

I looked over at Cayden and I saw that he was still in a deep conversation with the investors. I was so bored and watching everyone talking to their partners wasn’t making me feel any better.

Why did he have to leave me in the middle of the room like this? Now, I feel weird and awkward. I looked around again and my eyes settled on him. I was really contemplating going to him and telling him that I needed him to stay by my side throughout the dinner, but I thought against it. I wouldn’t want people to think that I’m a nuisance or something related.

I continued standing and a guy suddenly approached me. He was handsome, so handsome and I didn’t know why he came to me. I smiled at him and I asked, “hey.”

He smiled back and he dragged me to a corner of the room. I wondered why he was with me, but I decided to be nice to him because he also seems nice.

“You should say something, don’t you think?” I said jokingly and he chuckled softly.

“Hey. You’re really beautiful.” He said before flashing his teeth at me.

Damn. His voice is so nice and.. deep. I loved his voice so much. His voice was as amazing as his face. I definitely wanted to know more about him.

We started off well and we continued talking. I felt better that I had someone to talk to at least.

I stole a little glance at Cayden and I saw that he was still having conversations with the investors and I just continued enjoying this nice stranger’s company.Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.

After a while, I turned to look at Cayden, but he wasn’t there anymore. I became worried and I started using my eyes to scan the room. The stranger asked me what I was looking for and I put on a fake smile and told him not to worry about it.

We continued talking even though my mind was no longer present here.

Was Cayden looking for me? I have to wait here for him then.

As if he heard what I was thinking about, Cayden appeared in front of me with a huge frown on his face. I smiled at him and when I was about to introduce him to my new friend, he grabbed the stranger’s collar and he dragged him to the centre of the hall.

So many gasps escaped from the mouths of the people that were present and my hand flew to my mouth in shock.

What was Cayden doing?

Before I could say anything, Cayden threw the man across the room and he crashed on a small table that had a few cups on them. I wanted to go to Cayden and stop him, but a woman dragged me and told me that I shouldn’t do that because he might hurt me by mistake.

I watched in shock as the drama that was happening right in front of me became more brutal by the second. The man and Cayden were really fighting and cussing each other out. Even though Cayden had the upper hand, I still felt scared for him.

The stranger suddenly threw Cayden across the room and people rushed to him. The stranger came to me, brought out a pen and a paper from his blazer and he handed me a paper that had his phone number written on it before walking away.

I looked at the paper and I looked back at Cayden in confusion. I didn’t know that this was how the dinner was going to end or… even start because it hadn’t even started at all.

People helped Cayden to clean up and he walked to me really fast. While he was coming, I scanned his body and face and I saw that he had no injury, that means the fight wasn’t bloody.

“What was that, Cayden? What in heaven’s name was that?” I started ranting the moment he got to me. The fight was really weird and not necessary at all.

“Why were you talking to him, huh?” He said and I just continued staring at him. After everything that happened, that’s what he has to say? Who is this man standing before me? Because this isn’t Cayden at all.

“Why did you hit that man? I was about to introduce you to him and vice versa.” I glared at him and he didn’t say a word. He just continued looking at me.

I left him because of how angry I was and I went to help the workers to clean the few things that fell on the floor. The workers told me to stop and I reluctantly stopped. I didn’t want to talk to him at all because I was angry at him. I went to a corner of the hall and I brought out the paper that the stranger gave me a minute ago from my purse.

I looked at the number before bringing out my phone to dial the number. I looked at Cayden and I saw him looking around in frustration.

I looked away from him and I decided to be petty. He didn’t want me to talk to that man, but now, I’m going to call him myself.

If he wants to be jealous, that’s his problem.

I dialled the number and I called it.
