Lost and Found: Return of My Mysterious Fiancee

Chapter 676: Bionic Robots Stir Trouble

Tina's phone rang simultaneously with Lysander on the line.

"Tina, there's chaos at Kongham University. A gang of thugs appeared out of nowhere and started a fire!"

Tina urged everyone to stay calm and spoke into three phones, "Check if they are bionic robots. If so, smash them for me!" "Yes!" came the replies over the phones, followed quickly by sounds of a scuffle.

The situation was soon under control.

Suddenly, reports of robots injuring people exploded across both television and the internet.

The incident escalated quickly, drawing the attention of nearly the entire city.

Even Jared and Tina's attempts to delete entries and reports from the internet were futile.

Many people couldn't believe that robots were involved, thinking such things only happened in movies.

In their minds, robots were nothing more than large, entertaining machines found in banks.

Yet, here they were, robots that looked just like real humans.

At first, everyone thought they were actual people.

That changed when Tina peeled off their skin, revealing the machinery underneath.

The Reed, Woodham, and Ward families were thrown into chaos.

Even their internal staff had no idea how so many robots had escaped.

These bionic robots were supposed to be pre-programmed before they could be operated normally.

However, these robots had clearly not had any programs installed yet-so how did they suddenly go mad?

In Tina's group chat with her team-Janson said, "Miss, what do we do? Everyone is suspecting that robots will soon rule the world, claiming the future will be the age of machines. We can't control the online comments!" Ethan added, "Yes, the X Bureau wants to meet with us tomorrow. This madness seems premeditated, as if the programs were set in advance."

Damian agreed, "Tina, I think so too. This incident was definitely planned."

Tina's face remained expressionless, her voice cold as ice, "You three, come see me now!"

The bionic robot project was never publicized, not even the X Bureau knew the details, only that such a thing existed.

It was her private project.

Moreover, the three families had kept the developed robots well-secured, not even charging them beyond routine maintenance.

A sudden loss of control?

Damian asked, "Okay, Tina, what about Griffin?"

Tina's eyes narrowed, "I've sent someone else to Griffin. You are the chairman of Reed Corporate, you must be present at a time like this." Damian replied, "Okay, thanks."

Tina called Philip, instructing him to quickly head to the Alderanth sanatorium to bring back Griffin and Eric.

He was closest to the location and could get there quickly.NôvelDrama.Org content rights.

Soon, Janson, Ethan, and Damian arrived.

Janson spoke first as he entered, "Miss, we've found out. Those robots walked right out of our company's warehouse."

"That's right, and they were all from the first batch, not shown on the monitors," Ethan confirmed.

Damian's expression was grave, aware of the unusual nature of the situation, "Tina, could someone be trying to blow the lid on the robot issue? I think we are being targeted."

Tina shook her head, "It's not you who are being targeted. It's me."

None of them spoke. All three were subordinates of Tina, and the bionic robots were Tina's private project. Now that there was trouble, Tina was the first person responsible. Even though the details were not yet clear, it was only a matter of time before they found Tina. Janson clenched his fist, "Miss, this situation is too peculiar. If there are questions, you should not appear."

Ethan nodded in agreement, "Exactly, you must not show up. We will surely be detained in a secret prison for a while until things are clarified. But if you get dragged in too, no one will be able to uncover the truth behind this." Damian concurred, "Yes, we three will insist that this has nothing to do with you."

Tina smiled upon hearing this, "Even if you don't say anything, X Bureau will find me. They're not fools. Although there are no issues on Ashbury's end, the headquarters will still send people. We have to offer that courtesy." "But if all four of us are taken in for questioning, who will handle things outside?"

Damian asked with some concern.

"People are plentiful," Tina said as she tapped her fingers on the arm of her chair, her voice lazy and her eyes dark, unreadable.

X Bureau. Linden had also received a call from headquarters. The incident of the robots injuring people had a tremendously bad impact, shocking not only Ashbury but spreading rapidly nationwide. Despite Jared and Tina's efforts to minimize the impact, the involved parties were too numerous. After they dealt with the berserk robots, the news had already spread online.

"Linden! Didn't you assure me that the bionic robot would not be a problem? What's going on now? I told you before to retrieve that patent, and you just couldn't do it! Have your brains been squashed by a door?" Harry Jackson cursed furiously, his anger indicative of the severe societal disruption.

Linden hadn't expected things to escalate to this extent.

"Oh, Chief, you know what Tina and Jared are like. Even if I wanted to get the patent, I'd need the capability to do so. Why don't you ask Christopher? He was the one who mentored Jared."

"Stop passing the buck! Ashbury's headquarters has already been penalized once before. I'm warning you, if you don't handle this properly, you can forget about being Chief!" Harry Jackson hung up abruptly. Linden rubbed his temples and looked up at Tina, who was picking out a flavored candy.

"You heard that, right?"

Tina finally chose a satisfying piece of orange-flavored candy and ate it.

"Heard it. So, you still want my patent, right?"

Linden took off his glasses.

"It's not that I want it, it's just that this incident has gone too far, Tina. Is this thing that important to you? You don't expect it to make money. It won't cause trouble in my hands, what are you worried about?" Tina raised an eyebrow.

"Doesn't Chief Linden recall how the Five Poisons escaped last time?"

Linden was speechless. Indeed, the Five Poisons, like the previous spy organizations, were all eyeing the bionic robots. If GTO took it over, it would not just be about social panic; it could potentially cause a worldwide disaster. Every time X Bureau caught a criminal, it would be a bionic robot, and the real GTO criminals would still be at large, wouldn't that mess everything up?

"But how will you handle the current situation?"
