This was a rare opportunity for Miranda.
“If you’re interested, you can take this home and look it over carefully.” Paul took out a USB drive and placed it in front of her. “This contains the details of the experiment materials.”
Miranda looked up, her bright eyes filled with emotion. “Thank you. I’ll consider it carefully.”
At 10:00 pm, Miranda decided to head back home. Paul walked her to the door. “I live. right across from you, so there’s no need to see me ff, Miranda said with a smile.
off,”
However, Paul glanced at her fingers, which were inadvertently exposed. He reminded. her gently, “You shouldn’t keep a band–aid on for too long. It’s best to leave it uncovered after disinfecting it with iodine.
Instinctively, Miranda curled her fingers and said, “Thank you. I’ll do that
Paul didn’t say more on the subject. Instead, he just nodded slightly. He turned around and brought out a small pot of pink succulents. “This is for you.”
Surprised and delighted, Miranda blinked as she stared at the pot of succulents in her palm. It looked very cute with its chubby leaves that transitioned from green to pink.
“It’s so adorable. Are you sure you want to give it to me?”
“Yes, I passed by the florist a few days ago and saw it was the only one left, so I bought it. Consider it a thank you for the meal you cooked for me last time.
Miranda smiled and said. Til accept it this time, but you shouldn’t be so formal over having a meal together as friends. Don’t get me gifts next time.” She blinked her bright eyes, which twinkled like stars in the sky
“Alright. “Paul’s heart skipped a beat, as if someone had tickled it with a feather.
Early the next morning, Zach, Calvin, and a few of their other friends had made arrangements to visit Hansel at the hospital.
Zach walked in with a thermos, looking quite pleased with himself. “Hans, don’t say that we didn’t take care of you. Look what I brought you! It’s pumpkin soup!
“I know that your stomach can’t handle heavy food, so I got something light for you. I had my chef get up early to make this. The portion might seem small, but it’s packed with nutrients. You’ll be up and about in no time after eating i
Calvin stared at the bowl of fragrant and gold–colored soup. Then, he turned to look at Zach’s smiling face.
He couldn’t stop his lips from twitching. Was this guy here to deliver soup or to cause trouble?
Other people might not know about it, but all of them knew very well that Hansel hated soup. Apart from the special cream of vegetable soup Miranda made, he found other soups downright disgusting.
Sure enough, Hansel barely took a sip before scowling. He threw away the spoon in hist hand. I’m not going to eat this! It tastes disgusting! Where did you find a chef who can’t even make soup properly?”
Zach raised an eyebrow and tutted. “You’re too picky. I ate it myself, and I don’t see any problem with it.”
Hansel’s face was expressionless. “If you like it so much, eat it yourself.”
Zach snorted. “I think the problem isn’t with the soup, but with the person who made it. My chef is just an old man. How could he compare to your beautiful girlfriend, who made the soup with love? Oh, wait, I mean ex–girlfriend.” © 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
Calvin started coughing furiously, trying to stop Zach from digging his own grave. However, it was too late.
Hansel roared, “Get out!”
Zach quickly picked up the thermos and said, “Fine, I’ll leave! No wonder Miranda doesn’t want to come back to a man with a bad temper like yours. If I were her, I wouldn’t come back either!” With that, he left in a hurry.
Calvin chased after him and scolded, “You knew he was upset, and yet you still attacked his sore spot. You’re really something else!”
Zach said wryly, “Even you know that Miranda is his weak spot. He’s just too stubborn to admit it. If he wants her to visit, he should just say so instead of pretending to act tough!”
Calvin was at a loss for words.
Zach continued, “Speaking of which, Cal, how about you give him a hand?”
