Chapter 41- Amara
Chapter 41- Amara
The days went pretty quickly and finally the day of the battle arrived. Everyone was anxious to say the
least. Cassidy had cast a spell on the meeting house for protection of the mates and the parents of the
people fighting. As planned the pack will meet Vincent’s party at the cabin where they found the note
before of their demand. Cassidy had done her magic and hidden the mating mark on mine and
Steven’s neck. The only problem, Asher had ran away and not even his parents know where he is. So
we are a party of total fifteen people including the Knights, the pack, Ryder, Austin, Steven, Cassidy,
mom and Grayson. We have no idea how many people they have. We are hoping they won’t have a
witch on their side.
Cassidy is planning on trapping them in a force field so they won’t be able to escape and we will try to
kill them all but the problem is we will be trapped in the force field as well except mom, me and Ryder
but we are thinking a way out of that too. Xander is still stuck in the clearing. He was really mad when
he couldn’t fight by his father’s side. Ryder is our hidden weapon. We are hoping Vincent doesn’t know
about spirit wolves. According to mom, he doesn’t. I just hope everyone gets out of this alive. I don’t
want anyone to die for me.
We are waiting for them at the clearing near the cabin. The exact same clearing I met the spirit wolf
pack for the first time. The guys are surrounding me from all sides. Leo is standing in the front with
Ryan and Stan a little behind him and Caleb, Carter and Mathew are standing behind me with Mathew
a little behind in the center, forming a circle. The others are five miles south to the river concealed by
Cassidy’s spell, ready for the attack. Ryder will act as our connection.
At exact midnight we heard movements in the woods. A tall blonde guy with bright red eyes stepped
out of the trees smirking like the arrogant bitch he is. About fifty vampires were visibly lurking in the
trees. We are heavily out numbered. More than three to one. I have never fought vampires before but I
think I will manage.
“So where is my price? My precious little mate?” he asked arrogantly with a heavy Russian accent.
“I am not your mate.” I spat from behind Leo.
“Oh darling you will be. Now why don’t you show yourself to your new groom.” He said amused.
I stepped out and stood beside Leo. I can feel Steven’s agitation from the bond. There was also an
undertone of fear.
“Ah! Aren’t you a beauty? I will really enjoy bedding you my love.” He said looking me up and down.
His eyes made my skin crawl in disgust. I wanted to growl at him but I stopped myself. Don’t want him
to know I can shift, do we now? He must think I am defenseless.
“Start the spell.” I told Ryder in the mind link.
He will convey the message. I felt the vibrations of the magic. I knew the others didn’t. They can’t feel it
yet.
“Now now honey. Don’t be like that. The spell won’t work. You see we have a witch of our own.” He
said smirking deviously. “We came prepared you see. After all you are a very priced possession.”
Shit! Well we have already thought of this scenario.
“Plan B.” I said in the mind link.
“I didn’t think you will use your brain.” I said smiling at him. “We were hoping you didn’t have any.”
I know riling him on is not a good thing but we need time. He just smirked at me.
“How about you call the rest of your party so I can kill them at once?” I so want wipe the smirk off of his
face. “My warlock is apparently pretty good.” Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
“Sure.” I said showing a little fake sacred look.
“Ryder tell them to come to the clearing.”
One by one everyone entered the clearing but mom and Grayson weren’t with them. I hope they are
okay. Steven walked in the front and held my hand as planned. Vincent can’t exactly kill him but he
doesn’t know that. I didn’t want to use Steven as a bait but we had no other choice to distract Vincent.
“That must be your mate.” He said looking at Steven. “I know you from somewhere.”
Vincent pretended to think hard and then gave a booming laugh.
“That power hungry bitch Carrina’s mate.” He said amused. Steven clenched my hand hard and I
squeezed it back. He loosened his hold a little. “She thought I will chose her as my mate but how wrong
of her to think that I Vincent Clifford will take low life like her as my mate. She had that coming.” He
scoffed. “Enough chit chat. Give me my price.”
“No.” Steven replied. “I am not giving you my mate.”
“Boy your mate is dead. I killed her with my very own hands after I fucked her senseless of course.”
Vincent said nonchalantly. Steven hissed at him. “She was a very good bed warmer if I may add. So
how about you give me my mate.”
“We are not giving her up.” Leo growled. “For the last time, she is not your mate.
“Oh the Alpha is angry. Well mutt, I have a proposal for you. You give the spirit walker to me and I will
let you all walk away freely. Clearly you are out numbered. You don’t want to leave your mates behind.”
“You can’t claim her blood sucker. She has a mate.” Leo retorted pushing Vincent’s attention to Steven
as planned.
“That won’t be a problem for long. I will just rip his head off of his body and the problem will be solved.”
He said smirking. “Give her to me.”
“No.” Leo said. “We will take our chances.”
With that they started shifting. The vampires started coming out of the woods and lunged on us. Steven
had already pulled me away and we were running towards the river. Vincent followed us and stopped
us before we could cross the river. Ryder was waiting for us at the river but Vincent couldn’t see him.
“Where do you think you are going?” he asked walking closer to us casually. “See what you did? You
are alone now. No one to hide behind. This went easier than I thought. I didn’t knew you will be so
dumb. I will kill your mate now darling and claim you as mine. I will me invincible after that.”
He had this mad gleam in his eyes. I know we planned this but I am scared. What if Steven really died?
“Hello Vincent.” Mom said walking out of the woods like she was taking a stroll.
What the heck is she doing here? For the first time Vincent looked shocked and lost for words. Mom
stopped right beside Ryder.
“Claire?” He said tilting his head to the side. “How the hell are you alive? Aren’t you human?”
He spat the word human like it’s something disgusting.
