Hello, CEO! Don’t Play With Me!

Harvey sighed softly, not knowing how many times he had glanced at the clock on his left arm. His lips were dry from all the impatient clucking as his eyes continued to focus on the corridor where Giselle had disappeared. No. Literally, Giselle didn’t just disappear like the earth had swallowed her up, but she met and talked to Fanny.

Some might argue that Fanny is a good girl. But for Harvey, he no longer trusts what is part of his past. However, somehow the trust he had for Giselle and the people around him surprised him. Let’s just say that he was singling her out when her crisis of confidence disappeared, but how could he give her that trust?

“What are they talking about? It’s taking so long!” grumbled Harvey impatiently. And as soon as his eyes caught Giselle’s figure, he unconsciously smiled at the corners of his lips. Actually, Giselle didn’t ask him to wait, it’s just that, besides being curious, Harvey is also a little worried because Giselle’s condition has been a little worrying lately.

And he knew… the origin of why the girl looked different from before.

“Are you waiting for me?” asked Giselel unexpectedly. She immediately greeted Harvey, who pursed his lips but didn’t glare in annoyance like he usually did when Giselle embraced him. “Didn’t I ask you to go home first?”

“I should wait for you with curiosity?” Harvey chuckled in displeasure. “I don’t want to be in the car with Brina anyway. My ears are burning from her babbling about my unorthodox prohibitions.”

“You really need to cut down on soda, Harvey.”

Harvey rolled his eyes lazily. “I think talking to the wall is useful for you, Giselle.”

Both then laughed.Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

“Did you get a satisfactory answer?” asked Harvey as he stepped out of the banquet area. Although there were still a few guests left, at least the two of them didn’t have to do much socializing and put on their best smiles. Even so, some of them still greeted Giselle and Harvey and made them both manage to pause for a moment.

Just reply to their greetings and engage in a little small talk.

“I think we should have gone through the back door earlier,” Giselle complained between her cute smiles. Her eyes glanced at Harvey, who was still chatting about SEO models and the progress of the company Justin was leading.

“You’re right,” Harvey said in a half-whisper. “Come on, I don’t think there’s any need for hospitality after this. Brina has asked Nico to pick us up in the lobby. Hopefully we won’t have to wait for him.”

Giselle nodded happily. She immediately excused herself from the business of the embassies of other countries that came to this auction. At the very least, Giselle should stick to the principles of politeness and friendliness in dealing with many guests in public places. As a public figure, such things are inevitable not to do.

“Finally,” Giselle said as she leaned tiredly on the back seat. The car Nico was driving arrived on time. They didn’t have long to wait and Nico had already lectured them for being at the auction for too long. They had to rest immediately because the latest schedule had become unavoidably entangled. But most of all, Nico was annoyed that he had to pause his free time; playing games.

“Instead of pouting your face, how about a steak?” Harvey offered Nico before going back to grilling Giselle for her question earlier, yet to get an answer.

“You haven’t eaten dinner yet?” asked Nico with a worried look in his eyes.

“I did,” they both said in unison. “This offer is only for you, Nico. Do you want it?” Harvey asked, raising his eyebrows. “While she’s eating, we can talk over a cup of coffee. Maybe?”

Giselle laughed finally at Harvey’s plan. “I agree. When we get back to the apartment, it’ll be hard to talk freely. Maybe leaving late won’t be a problem. We got what Justin asked for, right?”

Harvey snapped his fingers. And Nico eventually gave up because their offer wouldn’t come twice. Besides being busy, the noisy duo was too much trouble not to fulfill his request. Besides, during this rather late dinner, they were under Nico’s supervision. Nothing would happen.

So here the three of them were. Where Nico was at another table, enjoying the best that this steakhouse that is quite famous for its mushroom sauce can serve, while Harvey and Giselle chose to eat other lighter snacks. And slightly separated themselves from Nico even though they were only one table away. Using the excuse that there were too many dishes for Nico at the table, Nico finally agreed. Although she was forced to.

“Stay away from me, ladies. You can do whatever you want if I’m not watching!” Nico said sternly. Already like Brina but still far behind but at least, they both obeyed Nico’s words.

“So how was it?” she asked as she leaned back comfortably. The atmosphere in the restaurant tonight was quite quiet but made the tranquility he longed for. The aroma of savory spices and grilled meat did make anyone appetite for that heavy dish but… Harvey could hold himself back.

“Fanny doesn’t know where Andrew is either,” Giselle said with a long sigh. Her face, which had been rather cheerful and happy, was suddenly somber and sad. Her eyes were also no longer looking at whatever was served in front of her, even though there was chocolate pudding and iced chocolate to accompany her tonight.

“At all?” asked Harvey with narrowed eyes.

“That’s what he said. The last time they were in touch was about a month ago.”

“I don’t know why I can’t believe he would say that.” Harvey looked sympathetically at Giselle. Aside from the fact that she knew Andrew only in passing, the news about him bothered her. The step Andrew had taken was very, very brave. Moreover, it disappointed two parties with considerable influence.

Langham and Kingston. Not as trivial a name as it might seem, who easily accepted what Fanny was doing with her lover.

“Why don’t you trust him?” asked Giselle with a searching look. “I also get the feeling you know him better than what I know, right?”

Harvey chose to raise his soda glass. Shaking it gently as if the soda was a wine that could relax him a little. But really, compared to wine, Harvey preferred soda. “I do know more than you do but it’s not the time for us to discuss that, is it?”

Giselle was silent but soon nodded in affirmation.

“Did Fanny mention anything else because of Andrew’s unknown whereabouts?”

“What does that mean?”

Harvey let out a long sigh. “Maybe he assumed that someone had done something bad to that guy?”

Giselle squealed in disbelief. “You say things that make my heart beat unsafely.”

“You’re really worried about her, eh?”

Giselle snorted in displeasure. She quickly grabbed her glass of iced chocolate. “You know, he’s a good guy. You recognize that too, right?”

“Indeed.” Harvey grinned. “That’s why I asked you about it.”

“Not if that’s what you want to know. Fanny is just saying, what Andrew has done up to this point, everything especially with regards to marriage, is because I pushed him. But as long as I remember the conversation with her last time, where you were the center of the SEO, oh… don’t give me a judgmental look. I already apologized for coming home early. I was sick anyway,” Giselle was willing to give in on this. what she said wasn’t a lie either.

“I know,” Harvey said with an amused giggle. Teasing Giselle is an unavoidable pleasure.

“I never encouraged him to do anything dangerous.”

“I’m sure you won’t, Giselle. Take it easy.”

“Fanny just said that if it’s time for Andrew to reappear, the first person she’ll call is me.” Giselle let out a long sigh. Her face looked much more somber than before.

“That means, Fanny believes that Andrew is okay. Even though he disappeared without any news, and you couldn’t reach him with many messages and calls, but I think we should trust Fanny’s words this time.” Harvey patted Giselle’s shoulder lightly. “Andrew is somewhere we don’t know where. And when the time comes, I think it will be after all the gossip and news has died down and, most importantly, the anger of the two families who are not working together.”

“You’re right, they were married under forced conditions. What’s so good about getting married and living a new life with someone you don’t want? I mean, even if they know each other but if their hearts don’t want them to be with each other, what will their lives be like?”

Harvey smiled cheerfully. “At least they’re free of that, right?”

For Harvey’s words this time, Giselle agrees.

“So… all you need to do is wait, Giselle. Until Andrew comes back into your life.”

Giselle scowled in displeasure. “You need to underline something, Harvey. I’m quite happy that he doesn’t bother me with multiple deliveries. There’s an unwritten debt every time he gives me a gift. You think I accept them with open arms? I feel burdened, too. I can’t repay him a single thing.”

Harvey nodded but his smile continued to be engraved.

“And as long as he doesn’t give me a lot of deliveries, I feel quite relieved.”

“And you’d better stop worrying then,” Harvey said in a thoughtful voice. He takes a sip of his soda and glances over to see if Nico has finished his dinner.

“You’re right.” Giselle stood up. “I won’t worry about it anymore.”

But that was met with an amused giggle from Harvey.

“Can you stop laughing?” Giselle scolded.

“When did I laugh?”

“Since earlier!” Giselle shot Harvey an annoyed look.

“Where is it!” Harvey laughed even more. “Never mind, admit it. You worry about her far more than you can put into your mouth. That’s okay. That’s good. It’s better than wishing for a love that can’t possibly be returned to you.”

“Smartass!”
