Chapter 86
86 Do not ride on two boats
Aaron was furious, but he suppressed his anger and turned to look at Jeremy before apologizing, “Forgive me, Mister Jeremy.” He wanted to say something more, but he would rather not make it sound like he was belittling his elder sister.
“There is no need for an apology,” Jeremy stated, looking at him. His lips curled in a soft smile which flickered slightly when he looked at Ariel, but he did not say anything rude as she was a woman. He cleared his throat and said to Noah, “I
think it is time for us to leave.”
The reason the two of them came to the Harlow house was because Noah wanted to hold a decent conversation with Ari about their abrupt and unexpected divorce. However, Noah had messed up once again after listening to his heart instead of his mind, with Ari gone– Jeremy was not convinced that there was any point in staying in the Harlow house.
Noah wanted to say something, but under the gaze of his uncle, he nodded. He turned to look at Ariel and said to her, “I will take my leave.”
Ariel did not want him to leave, it had been days since the two of them met. She smiled at Noah and Jeremy before remarking, “Noah, didn’t you and your uncle come here to celebrate my mom’s birthday? Why don’t you come inside and wait for the
cake to be cut?”
“Ariel–”
Do hot ride on two boats
“I think we will skip that,” Jeremy said with a professional smile on his face, he raised his hand placed it on Noah’s shoulders and steered him towards the small metal gate. “I and Noah were only dropping by, since we have greeted and wished Mrs. Harlow, I believe we need to leave as we have other priorities
as well.”
Ariel, held a bitter expression on her face for a second before she smiled again. She said, “It will not take too much time, Mister Jeremy.” She really wanted to take this opportunity to get closer to Noah and Jeremy. Maybe if she were to win the heart of Jeremy through her kindness and compassion, Jeremy might support her just like Ari.
Jeremy felt his patience run out, but he still did not lose his temper. He shook his head. “I am not convinced that there will be any need, as we did not come here to eat cake. We have a meeting arranged with the mayor of the town and need to leave.” He made an excuse when he saw that Ariel was not
letting them go.
“But–
Η
“Ariel,” Aaron put more pressure on Ariel’s arm. He looked down at his elder sister who was acting desperate and said to her, “Let these two men leave, they have an important meeting.” He then raised his head and smiled at Jeremy, “Please, Mister Jeremy.”
Jeremy smiled back at Aaron, he then moved Noah out of the
lawn and not once did he let Noah turn back. NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.
Once the two men stepped out of the Harlow house, the driver
of their car stepped out and opened the door for Jeremy and Noah.
With the driver standing on the side of the open door, Jeremy asked Noah to get in before sliding inside the car and no sooner did he sit inside, than he closed the door with a bang.
Not even giving Ariel the chance to say goodbye to Noah.
“Uncle,” Noah sensed that Jeremy was angry, but he did not say anything.
Instead, he waited for Jeremy to calm down.
Jeremy pulled the divider separating them from the driver but did not turn to look at Noah. Instead, while looking at the divider he questioned, “Forgive me Noah in case I missed something. But I recall you telling me that you came here for Ariana and not Ariel, is that right? Or did I mishear the name?” He turned to look at Noah sharply and added, “Because if it were for Ariel, then I wouldn’t have come together with you.”
“Uncle, I did try to speak with Ariana, but she did not hear a thing I said to her,” Noah immediately cleared his stance. “She was adamant on saying things that I don’t think she
understood herself. While we were speaking, Ariel met with a small mishap and I just gave her a hand, there was nothing else.
to it.”
“There was nothing else to it when you kissed that woman, and there was nothing else to it when you chose her over Ari,” Jeremy stated with a cold voice. He couldn’t understand how his wise and smart nephew was being played like a fool by that

“I didn’t decide her over Ariana,” Noah corrected. He just helping someone who was in pain, he did not think that there was anything for Ariana to feel upset about. If it were someone else other than Ariel, he would have helped her as well. “I believe that Ariana will understand, Ariel is her big sister and there is no need for her to quibble over something so small.”
“Ariana will understand?” Jeremy scoffed. The car hummed to life as the driver drove away from the Harlow house. The sound of the soft hum of the engine echoed inside the walls of the car and as the driver turned the car to the left, Jeremy said, “You are a fool to hope for something like this, Noah. Ariana is not a God, she is a human and she has limits! How many times are you going to ask her to understand?”
Noah pursed his lips and stated, “This is what she owes me and Ariel–”
“Owes you?” Jeremy was amused. He laughed and then shook his head, “Ariana doesn’t owe you anything. If you had loved Ariel as much as you claimed, you would have fought against your grandfather instead of marrying Ariana. Stop pitting the blame on Ari because it’s easier.”
He then glanced at his nephew and subtly added, “More importantly, stop riding in two boats. No man has ever crossed the stream with his legs placed in two boats. Either make up your mind and marry Ariel, or pursue Ariana with dedication. Your actions are bringing embarrassment to the Nelson name.”
