Chapter 92
"Mom, will you regret this later?" Thea wondered silently.
Ivy paused for a moment, noticing the emotions in Thea's eyes, and an uneasy feeling crept over her. Thea's temper had become more erratic lately, and Ivy thought it best to calm her down for now.
With a forced smile, Ivy turned to Emmalie. "You go back to filming the show. I'll handle things here."
Emmalie blinked in concern. "I'm not sure, Mom. Thea doesn't seem to be in a good mood. Are you sure you'll be okay on your own?"
From an outsider's perspective, one'd think Thea was some kind of menacing villain.
Ivy patted Emmalie's hand reassuringly.
Thea raised a hand slightly. "No need to rush. I've got someone I want you and Emmalie to meet. After they clear up some things for me, you can take me away. But what's with the sudden rush to silence me? Afraid I'll say something you don't want people to hear?" The livestream exploded with a wave of angry comments.
[Thea's seriously lost it. Her family's still defending her no matter what she does. I'm so touched.]
[If I had a family like that, I'd be a bright, happy girl too!]
[I bet she's just trying to cover up the fact she's been sneaking around. She's definitely hiding a man in her room!]
[You're right. She's embarrassed and now trying to pin it all on Emmalie.]
The show's producers, noticing the spike in viewership, couldn't resist keeping all cameras trained on Thea.
Seeing Thea continue to stir things up, Ivy felt the last bit of guilt she had melt away. Her eyes grew cold. "Is this really what you want?"
Thea arched an eyebrow. "That's an interesting way to put it, Mom. All I'm asking for is some fairness, but according to you, that makes me the troublemaker? Even if I am, would I be acting this way if you hadn't pushed me first?"
Ivy was livid. "Fine! Bring whoever you want. Let's see what game you're trying to play."
Ivy didn't notice the brief flicker of unease that crossed Emmalie's face.
Emmalie clenched her hands, feeling an uncomfortable tightness spreading inside her.
The man she had arranged for the night before had vanished.
At first, Emmalie thought he'd just failed and fled, but seeing Thea now, maybe she had caught him.
'How could that be? She was locked up the whole time yesterday. How could she pull that off?' Emmalie thought. Trying to reassure herself, Emmalie tugged on Ivy's sleeve. "Mom, if this keeps going, it's going to get out of hand." At that moment, a man bound in a burlap sack was brought into the room, changing the entire dynamic.
What had started as a scandal about a daughter's infidelity caught by her family had now flipped into something much more sinister, an orchestrated

The comments on the livestream were filled with calls to involve the police.
"Mom!" Emmalie's voice shook with panic.
Ivy's brow furrowed, her face stern.

Whether the situation was true or not, this was not something that should be happening in front of an audience.
Ignoring Emmalie's plea, Ivy signaled to have the camera crew escorted out.
The producers were reluctant to miss out on such a juicy story, but it was the Rowland family's house, and they had no choice but to comply. Emmalie let out a small sigh of relief, though her anxiety remained.
Thankfully, Emmalie had never handled things personally, so even if Thea suspected something, there would be no real evidence against her. Without proof, Thea's accusations wouldn't hold any weight.
With that thought, Emmalie stood a little taller.
Watching the production team exit, Thea's fingers curled slightly.
Without an audience, this confrontation would mean nothing.
Thea didn't need to think too hard to see how this would go.
The family would circle the wagons around Emmalie, minimizing the fallout, and sweeping everything under the rug.
At that moment, a synchronized sound of footsteps echoed from outside. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.
"I didn't expect the Rowland family to be so lively; I might have come at a bad time." A familiar male voice rang out, causing everyone's expressions to change instantly. Emmalie's eyes lit up
with excitement.
She hurriedly adjusted her skirt and ran up to Nicolas, stopping just in front of him, her delicate face flushed. "Nicolas, what brings you here?"
The comments flooded in with envy.
[I knew they were really together! With two such outstanding men caring for her, Emmalie's standards must be sky-high.]
[They really are a perfect match, both from good families and exceptionally talented.]
[I can only imagine how beautiful their future children will be.]
Ivy's stern expression softened as she quickly approached to greet him. "Good morning, Mr. Hendrix."
However, she felt a bit puzzled.
What's Nicolas doing here?' she wondered.
Catching sight of the bashful Emmalie, all her questions suddenly made sense.
Ivy felt a sense of satisfaction. All the effort she'd put into nurturing Emmalie seemed to be paying off.
Nicolas ignored the two of them, his cool gaze sweeping over the crowd and landing on Thea.

Although Thea couldn't recall what had happened the night before, the morning's events were still vivid in her mind. After the initial shock, she felt more anxious and embarrassed.
'Why is he here? I haven't figured out ho
to face him yet, she thought.
Nicolas stepped into the room, his tone neutral.
"I'm here to pick up Jake. I heard some incidents occurred with the Rowland family, and I thought it was appropriate for me to check in. I hope my unexpected visit isn't a bother. I've already found out what happened. If it's indeed as Emmalie described, then it's rather serious. You don't need to feel uneasy. I'm just here to listen. If my father asks later, I'll have something to say," Nicolas explained.
His words effectively silenced Ivy, leaving her at a loss for what to say.
Ivy hesitated, her jaw clenched. "Of course, it won't be a bother. I just thought it might be somewhat inappropriate for you to witness something like this, Mr. Hendrix."
The director of the production team seized the opportunity to speak. "I'm terribly sorry to interrupt, but we haven't gathered enough footage for this episode. Would it be possible for Emmalie to take us around here for a special interview?" This was merely a test. They were not willing to leave.
Nicolas had arrived, and Emmalie was not in the mood to record the show. She was thinking about how to refuse when Nicolas spoke up. "Not enough footage? Then you might as well stay here. If something really serious were to happen, it would be helpful if you could report it and clear the Rowland family's name."
He appeared to be looking out for the Rowland family, but Ivy felt a bit uncomfortable.
However, with Nicolas saying that, she couldn't just throw the production team out.
The crew looked at Nicolas as if he were their savior.
In the next moment, the burlap sack covering the man's head was pulled off.
