Don’t Fall for the Billionaire Lover

Chapter 591

Chapter 591

Linda held a journal in her hands, the very one that had caused the big misunderstanding and eventual split between Lucas and Chloe. Most of the entries were Chloe's own words, capturing the everyday moments of their relationship. Lucas's name appeared often, woven into the tapestry of their shared life. But some of the entries were fake, cleverly forged by Linda to mimic Chloe's handwriting, filled with disdain for him. This played into Lucas's insecurities, driving him to resent Chloe, leading them down separate paths.

Seeing the journal again, Lucas felt a surge of anger at how he'd been Linda's puppet all these years. The life he could've had with Chloe slipped through his fingers, making him almost grind his teeth in frustration. He was itching to confront Linda, standing there with her crafty demeanor.

Linda shrugged it off, saying, "Do you want Chloe back by your side?"

Lucas paused, thrown by her question, then frowned deeply at her, "What are you getting at, Linda?"Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.

"This journal drove you and Chloe apart. Do you think if Connor saw it, it would cause a rift between them too?"

Lucas had a hunch about Linda's game. The journal was filled with Chloe's accounts of their youthful days, their innocent love as childhood sweethearts, brimming with the sweet awkwardness of first love. If Connor read it, jealousy could consume him, sparking misunderstandings and distance.

Lucas, puzzled, asked, "Why would you do this, Linda? Do you want Chloe back with me?"

Linda met his gaze, "I'm leaving soon. Consider it my way of making things right."

Lucas stared, skeptical, "I don't buy it."

He'd been duped by her too many times. Her innocent act only hinted at deeper schemes. She must have had another angle. "Lucas, we've known each other for ages. You're the father of my child. You being with Chloe is better than Connor."

Lucas felt a ripple through his heart, a longing he'd kept buried. He often dreamed of Chloe coming back, but he dared not dream too big. Chloe was with Connor now, and Lucas, dealing with his own struggles, wasn't sure if he could make her happy. But deep down, he had a selfish wish.

He longed for those dreams of their youth, for a stormy love that had only grown stronger over time. How he wished he could rewind time, to bring back what once was.

Linda smiled, "I'm not asking you to do anything. This was Chloe's to begin with. I just thought you might want to give it back to her."

Standing up, Linda walked over to Lucas, placing the journal in his hands, "Whether you show it to Connor is your call."

With that, she added, "The reception's about to start. They should be here soon. I'll head out first."

With the wedding planner's help,

Linda made her way to the venue. Chloe and Connor had just arrived, Chloe linking her arm through Connor's. She wore the bridesmaid dress Linda had picked for her a moonlight-white gown with a delicate tulle belt, her shoulders like pure snow.

She looked like a fairy, drawing every eye in the room. Chloe's moment in the spotlight didn't stir jealousy in Linda, instead, it pleased her Today, they both deserved to shine.

Linda gracefully approached Chloe, "Chloe, you look stunning today. Thanks for coming."

Chloe, arm still looped with Connor's, greeted Linda with formal politeness, "Congrats."

Chloe handed over a gift box, "Here's a wedding gift for you."

Linda was pleasantly surprised.
