Despicable Roommate

The plan

Jessie

I waited nervously at the landing outside Alec and Lynn’s apartment, my heart racing as I tried to come up with the right words to say. I had been in love with him for months, but he was already in a silly relationship that needed to end as soon as possible. I knew I had to take the chance and try to break them up. Alec was not the loyal type, and Lynn wasn’t going to be able to match up to him.

At first, I thought Lynn had some fun personality that drew him in, but after interacting with her, I realized she was quite boring. Now, I was convinced that he was only with her because she was available. I had to make myself available. Compared to me, Lynn Harris was nothing.

Finally, I summoned the courage to stand up and knock on the door. Alec answered, a surprised look on his face when he saw me standing there.

“Hey, what are you doing here?” he asked, confusion etched on his face.

I took a deep breath and blurted out the words I had been rehearsing in my head. “I know you’re with someone else, but I can’t stand by and watch you be with someone who doesn’t appreciate and love you the way I do. I know this might sound crazy, but I love you and I want to be with you. Please give me a chance to show you how much you mean to me.”

Alec looked down at his feet, and seemed to be considering my request. After a moment, he looked back up at me and sighed.

“I’m sorry, but I can’t just leave her for you. I care about her a lot, and I don’t want to hurt her. But I appreciate you coming to me and being honest about your feelings. Unfortunately, you’re not my type and, I’m not interested.”

“You choose her over me,” I said, feeling angry. I sent a message I had already typed to Lauren. Then I realized my mistake. I couldn’t show him that I was angry, I had to be nice and pretend to understand. “Sorry, Lynn is an amazing girl. I have to admit, I befriended her to get your attention, but ended up liking her. I have tried to hide my feelings because I don’t want to hurt her but it becomes harder every day. I love you, Alec. I’ve stayed away all this time out of respect but I couldn’t take it anymore.”

“I’m trying to be nice, here. Don’t make me lose it. I’m sorry but I love my girlfriend. You can leave now, and stay away from Lynn. I know that you want to ruin her life and I won’t let you do that.”

“I love you, and I won’t be stopping anytime soon.” I said, glancing at the text I had just received from Lauren. I needed to keep him outside or at least get myself inside. “What do you see in her anyway? She’s plain and boring.”This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

Alec stepped out of the apartment, his eyes burning with anger and determination. He seemed to have had enough of me, and was done playing nice. His face looked even manlier when he was angry and I loved it. I wanted him to grab and angrily kiss me.

“Listen to me, and listen well,” he said sternly, breaking me from my reverie. “I’m not interested in you, and I never will be. You need to accept that and move on. I love Lynn and she’s the only woman I want.”

It was at this point that I heard footsteps on the stairs. I took two steps forward and forcefully kissed him. For a second, he froze in shock, before pushing me away. The sound of running up the stairs made me smile. It was clear she had seen us.

“Lynn!” Alec yelled but the girl kept going, which worked in my favor.

I narrowed my eyes, and stepped closer to him, with a wide smile. “You don’t get the last word,” she spat out. “If I can’t have you, I won’t let anyone have you.”

Alec shook his head, his voice growing louder and more forceful. “How many times do I have to tell you that I’m not interested in you? You need to respect that and stay away from me. I won’t tolerate your silly behavior so if you know what’s good for you, stay the hell away from me.”

I opened my mouth to argue but he didn’t give me the chance. He turned and ran towards the stairs, leaving me behind in stunned silence. I chuckled, shaking my head. After what I had done, I was sure, Alec would never like me. Now that he had got to my bad side, he was going to experience what it was like. The plan B had gone so well. If Alec had been nicer to me, I would never have texted Lauren to make Lynn return to her apartment by pretending to borrow some sugar.

Satisfied with my work, I went to my apartment.

“How did it go?” Lauren asked.

“Perfect,” I told her. “That arrogant guy was insulting me. Now the girl he claims to love so much wants nothing to do with him.”

I sat on the couch, scrolling through my phone as I planned my next move. Lynn Harris was not going to get my crush and be happy. I couldn’t stand the thought of Alec being happy with someone else, and I was determined to do whatever it took to break them up.

I scrolled through my contacts list, looking for the perfect person to help me in my scheme. I finally settled on someone who had a score to settle with Lynn, someone who I knew would be willing to do anything for a little bit of attention.

I quickly typed out a message, sharing my plan and inviting her for coffee. I hit send and leaned back in my chair, a satisfied smile spreading across my face.

I knew it wouldn’t be easy, but i was willing to do whatever it took to get what i wanted. And if that meant breaking up a happy relationship, then so be it. I was going to destroy Lynn and Alec’s happiness, no matter the cost.
