The story of Anggi and Haris
Flashback
A black sky illuminated by a few stars and a bright moon illuminated a small alley with no light. The leaves of the dried-up, yellow-brown tree began to fall and hit the head of a girl who was walking with a tall man who was holding her left hand. It was as if they were enjoying the night by braving the wind that was getting colder and colder.
With the thin clothes, which the girl had been wearing from this afternoon because she had not returned home, the girl had to willingly endure the wind entering her body. Similarly, the tall man was still wearing his office shirt and tie, as well as the suit that was still attached to his body. Seeing that the girl next to him was only wearing a thin t-shirt made the man immediately stop his steps.
“Why did you stop?” Anggi asked.
The man took off his suit and put the suit on the girl. Yes, they were Haris and Anggi who Gifer and Belvina had been looking for on the phone but both of them were unreachable.
“Eh?” Anggi was surprised because Haris suddenly put the suit on her.
“You must be cold, your clothes are thin.” Haris’ reply made Anggi’s cheeks turn red like boiled crabs.
The girl lowered her head in shame that Haris was that concerned about her. Haris just stared straight ahead as he continued to walk leisurely while Anggi walked behind.
“Haris, why do we keep walking around like this? Are we not going back to the hospital to see Mr. Kevin? We haven’t had a chance to see Mr. Kevin awake yet.” Anggi asked again.
“We’ll probably go there tomorrow, it’s late at night, maybe at this hour, Mr. Kevin will fall asleep again.” Haris replied casually, glancing at Anggi while still walking with his hands in his pants pockets. Adding to the handsome and cool impression. Not to mention the wide, prince-like smile he gave Anggi.
“Yes, too.”
While they were chatting, suddenly there was the sound of someone getting angry in a small alley that they were now passing through.
BRAK!
CRASH!
BRUG!
The voice sounded loud, deafening Anggi and Haris who were shocked when they heard it.
“Hurry up and pay your debt now! If not, then I will make your grandson my slave forever!” The man who seemed to be the same age as Haris, wearing a black T-shirt, denim vest, black jeans, and chain necklace, apparently destroyed all the merchandise of the Indonesian snack stall owner until the snacks made by an old woman were scattered on the asphalt.
The man with very muscular arms continued to urge the seller to immediately pay off his debt by threatening the fate of his grandson who would become his slave. The old woman who sold the snacks was seen kneeling down to the man.
“No, Yohanes. Please give me one more week, hiks.. don’t hurt my grandson. The girl is completely innocent, don’t make her your slave, hiks.. hiks.. hiks..” Said the old woman whose hair had turned white a lot while crying bitterly.
The old woman’s head looked up to meet the man’s eyes. Hearing the grandmother’s story made the man named Yohanes even more furious and kicked the old woman until she bounced. Making the old woman even more sad and crying.
“HAAAH! I don’t care! There’s no more time for you! Remember, you owe me your life and money, so you have to pay! Or if it’s not your grandson, it could be your life!” Bargained the man whom the grandmother called Yohanes earlier.
“Hah…. I didn’t expect that there would still be people who collect debts in such a rude manner.” Haris came up with an insinuation.
He walked closer to the two people who were fighting over the unfulfilled debt. Haris came while folding his arms across his chest along with Anggi who was next to him. Instantly the two people turned to Haris who suddenly came to interrupt their conversation.
“None of your business! My business is with this grandmother!” Yohanes pointed at the old woman with his eyes facing Haris.
“It’ll be my business anyway, since your voice is so annoying to my ears.”
“What the fuck!”
BUGH!
One punch was received by Haris until the corner of his lip turned blue and bled slightly. Of course, Anggi was immediately surprised when Yohanes attacked Haris without a signal like earlier. Anggi immediately grabbed Haris’ arm, as if asking ‘are you okay?’ despite the fact that Anggi clearly saw that he was not. Haris gave Anggi a glance, signaling with his palm that he was okay. Haris’ right hand touched the corner of his own lips and wiped away the blood.
“Wow, you’re strong too. I didn’t expect it, hahahha.”
“Oh, of course. Want some more?”
PLAK!
BUGH!
BUGH!
BUGH!
As Yohanes was about to punch again, Haris instantly parried it and countered Yohanes’ punch three times faster in the stomach. It sent the man crashing to the rough black asphalt. The man looked down, still clutching his stomach and tried to get up from his sitting position but couldn’t. Anggi who saw that immediately approached Haris, stroking the man’s right arm so that Haris could control himself.
“Already, Haris, you can go to jail if you keep beating him.” Anggi said, making Haris realize and nodded.
“Still acting like a thug again, hmm? Even your strength is nothing compared to an ex-thug boss like me. Damn, you were threatening grandma earlier.” Haris said showing his smirk.
Yohanes was actually still furious with the treatment from Haris who seemed to have almost killed him because of the very unplayful punches. Haris’ martial arts was even stronger than him. Yohanes clenched his hands into fists as he stared at Haris with his eyes reddened with anger. But here he was alone, so he couldn’t fight much because his martial arts knowledge was still lacking.
“Damn it!” Yohanes said with his teeth still chattering.
“Is it you or me, huh? Who’s losing, who’s swearing. I should be the one swearing, fuck!” Haris snarled back at the cursing from Yohanes’ mouth.
“Tell me, how much does she owe? Let that granny not owe you anymore.” Haris said casually.
“30 million rupiah.” Retorted Yohanes who was still struggling to stand up due to Haris’ crushing blow. Haris reached into his pants pocket for a rectangular object and seemed to be typing something.
“Account number?”
“8910*********”
“Ok, the money is in. If I ever see you again and hurt that grandmother, then you’ll have to deal with me! Remember that! Collecting a debt doesn’t have to be done in a rude way, while you can still do it in a nice way, do it. Don’t trouble others by threatening to make them slaves. If it happens again, I’ll teach you a lesson worse than this!” Haris’ threat was no joke as he kicked Yohanes’ leg lightly and warned him not to hurt others again when collecting debts.
Anggi also approached the grandmother who was still crying on the street and sat on the asphalt and Haris also came over to check on her condition.
“Grandma, is anyone hurt?” Haris asked. The grandmother shook her head weakly.
“Nothing, son. It’s just that my merchandise was all destroyed, I’m not sure if I can sell again tomorrow. I wouldn’t have gotten anything today because I was just starting out, but John just tore it all apart.” The heart of the grandmother.
“Oh my, it’s okay, here’s some money for Grandma to sell tomorrow.” Anggi said as she took out several pieces of money with a high nominal value.
“No need, child. I’m already very grateful to you both for helping me to deal with Yohanes and paying off my debt. I really owe you.” She said.
“No, Grandmother. I sincerely give this, please don’t refuse.” Anggi replied with a smile, inevitably the grandmother finally accepted it with a smile too.
“Thank you, yes. You are good people.”
“Grandmother, if I may know, where is your granddaughter?”This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
“My granddaughter is a girl who only works as a night singer on the streets. She sings with her guitar to earn money. My granddaughter always comes home late at night so she can earn a lot of money to pay off her debt to Yohanes. During the day, she teaches at one of the foundations.” Hearing the explanation from the grandmother instantly made Haris think a little, as if remembering something about foundations.
‘Is it Bang Martin’s foundation?’ Haris thought, frowning.
‘Doesn’t Bang Martin’s foundation only have a few teachers? Ah… maybe one of them is this grandmother’s granddaughter.’ He said to himself.
“Is it a girl, Grandma?” Haris asked.
“Yes, I said girl earlier, right? She’s a girl, just a bit tomboyish. That’s why I always call her a tomboy girl, because she often wears a hat to cover her eyes when she is walking, so that no one recognizes her on the road she said. Hahaha, I’m going to tell you about my granddaughter.”
“It’s okay, Grandmother. If it makes Grandma happy, there’s no problem telling us.” Anggi replied while smiling sweetly at her grandmother.
“You guys are so tight, are you husband and wife?” At that question, Anggi and Haris immediately widened their eyes and looked at each other for a moment and then looked back at Grandmother.
“There’s no such thing, Grandma. We’re just friends, yes, friends.” Anggi said quickly before Haris preceded her to speak to Grandmother.
“Ah, friends.” Haris quipped while glancing sharply at Anggi.
“It is indeed a friend.”
“Hahaha, you guys are all over the place, but you look good together, it’s a shame if you’re just friends.” Said the grandmother with a smile. Anggi was actually also smiling but only slightly, as was Haris.
Flashback End
Anggi told Belvina what happened while outside the hospital with Haris. From there, Belvina immediately knew Anggi’s intention, which turned out that they had not had time to visit Mr. Kevin, Haris was looking for an opportunity to invite Anggi to go out together.
“Hahahahaha, I even thought that you two deliberately wanted to go, because I was invited by Gifer to go, you also went hahaha.” Belvina laughed out loud after hearing Anggi’s story.
“Issh that’s not the point, Vina. I’m just amazed that Haris can help people with his martial arts. Haris also dared to give a lot of money to pay off Grandma’s debt, so.”
“Amazed or amazed, huh? Or maybe…” Belvina deliberately paused her sentence and smiled a lot because she heard Anggi’s story earlier.
“Maybe what? I didn’t do anything with Haris, we didn’t go to a hotel or club at all.” Anggi tried to explain so that Belvina would not misunderstand him and Taehyung’s departure this afternoon.
“Ekh ekh ekh ekh ekm, even though I didn’t tell you, how come you were told anyway. Hahahaha.” Belvina teased Anggi even more which made the girl misbehave.
“Aishh, no Vin, listen to me talk until the end first.” Anggi said. Belvina lowered herself and pressed her back against the back of her apartment’s living room sofa.
“I’ve heard, Anggi. Or maybe, you like Haris?” Belvina guessed.
Of course it immediately made Anggi round her eyes because it was discovered by her best friend that she did like Haris, even though she didn’t like him too deeply.
“Aissh, what’s this argument again, bestie? Please, listen first.” Anggi replied pleadingly to Belvina who always cut off her sentences.
“But … if you say you like it, I like it too.” Anggi showed her happy face and laughed.
“Well, my guess was right all along. It’s really hard to admit that, Gi. Hahahahaha.” Belvina got up from leaning against the back of the sofa and gestured the number one with her hand pointing at Anggi.
“It’s not difficult, that’s why I asked you about Haris, what kind of man he is, I don’t know Haris that closely.” Said Anggi
“Then you think I’ve known Haris for years too? I only know Haris from Gifer, who at that time had met at the ‘Ability to Read’ Foundation when Gifer was still blind. Even then, I didn’t really know him until now. The one who knows me closely and for years is Gifer. Just ask him, who knows if you’ll get the right answer. Hahahahhaa.” Belvina explained while laughing and teasing Anggi.
“If you ask Gifer, it’s the same as if I ask you, she’ll be supportive, praising Haris’ sweet, handsome, understanding, and other traits, plus matchmaking. Aissh, there’s no difference.” Anggi was upset while advancing the lower part of her lips.
“Whatever, if you want to know, you have to find out.” Belvina suggested.
“Uh but, Haris do you think you have any feelings?” Asked Belvina curiously.
“Yeah, I don’t know, Vin. Just now, Haris was flirting, but I didn’t pay much attention, I just said that I don’t like being flirted with.” Hearing that, made Belvina immediately pat Anggi’s left shoulder.
“Why are you so innocent, Anggi? That’s a sign that Haris also likes you, but he chanted through his seduction. Why are you responding like that? Wow, Haris must be very disappointed to hear your answer.” Belvina regretted that Anggi was unconsciously rejecting Haris’ advances.
“Then, what should I do? Does Haris hate me? Earlier when we were walking together he gave this suit to me, Haris still cares, right?”
“WHAT! This suit is also from Haris!” Anggi nodded with a smile, showing her white teeth innocently. Making Belvina immediately tapped her forehead.
