Chapter 50
Chapter 50 Restore
Upon hearing this, Anna stared at the technical expert, silently repeating, "It must not be recovered. It must not..."
The technical expert continued to work on the computer for a while. Then, he shook his head with a solemn look.
"I'm sorry, Miss Wilson. The surveillance footage for that period has been overwritten too much, and there's no way to restore it."
Anna let out a sigh of relief and looked at Leah smugly.
The surveillance footage couldn't be recovered, and she'd love to see what else Leah could come up with!
Leah lightly stroked her chin, pondering for a moment before instructing the technical expert seated at the computer. "Stand up. I'll try to fix it."
The technical expert stood up, looking puzzled as he glanced at Leah. "Miss Wilson, you're knowledgeable in this field?"
Leah sat down and responded calmly, "I've learned a bit."
Anna couldn't help but sneer. "Miss Wilson, not even professionals could recover it. Since you've only learned a bit, don't try to show off, or you might embarrass yourself when you can't recover it."
The surrounding employees chimed in, "Anna is right, Miss Wilson. Professionals couldn't do it, let alone an amateur like you."
"Anyway, losing the speech didn't affect your presentation, so why not just leave this matter behind?"
The voices around her grew noisy. Leah raised her head and glanced around coldly, silencing them all. Her voice was so icy as if it could make people tremble.NôvelDrama.Org: text © owner.
"This matter isn't just about losing the speech. Someone intentionally stole it to embarrass me on stage, making our company a laughingstock. I absolutely won't tolerate such malicious behavior. So, we must investigate this thoroughly."
The employees around looked at each other and stopped persuading Leah.
Instantly, the control room was filled with silence.
Leah withdrew her gaze from them and began typing rapidly on the keyboard.
Anna watched Leah's actions disdainfully, thinking,
"Go ahead. Just keep trying. In the end, you still won't get anything."
Anna wanted to see what else Leah could come up with.
Ten minutes had passed, but Leah still didn't stop typing.
Anna couldn't resist taunting Leah again. "Miss Wilson, if it's
impossible, just give it up. Don't worry. Even if you can't recover the surveillance footage, no one will mock you. After all, not even the professional could handle this. It's normal that you failed."
The others joined in, advising Leah to stop. "Miss Wilson, as Anna said, there's no hope of recovery. Just let it go. No one will think less of you."
"We know you want to recover the surveillance footage and catch the person who took the speech, but now you just can't get it done when the footage is overwritten."
Everyone believed that Leah couldn't
recover the surveillance footage.
However, a few seconds later, she
turned around and said calmly, "Who
said the surveillance footage couldn't be restored? I've already done it."
Everyone around seemed very astonished.
They thought that Leah, an amateur, couldn't possibly achieve what professionals couldn't.
Anna was the first to challenge.
"Miss Wilson, the technical expert
just said that the surveillance
footage can't be restored. But now
you said that you've done it? Are you sure you're not just pretending?"
Leah smiled and looked at Anna indifferently.
"Why are you so anxious? Are you afraid that you'll be exposed if the surveillance footage is recovered?"
