Chapter 932: Taking Action
“Mummy…” Ayaan wrapped his short arms around Ranita’s neck, pouting, “Mummy, you lied again.”
“Mummy… didn’t…” Ranita denied, but her stomach betrayed her with a loud growl.
Ayaan giggled, climbed off Ranita’s lap, and ran out of the room. He returned shortly with a plate holding a sandwich and some blueberries. “Mummy, eat! When you’re full, you’ll feel better.”
Looking at the well-behaved Ayaan, Ranita felt less upset. She smiled, “Thank you, Ayaan. You are my little sweetheart.”
“What’s a little sweetheart?” Ayaan asked curiously. Then he suddenly got excited, “Ah… I read in a book that daughters are their mommy’s little sweethearts! But I’m a boy…”
Ranita was amused by Ayaan. She ate a bit and, feeling dizzy, lay down for a while. Unexpectedly, she fell asleep! Perhaps the medication hadn’t fully worn off, leaving her still uncomfortable.
“Ranita!” She didn’t know how much time had passed when an angry shout woke her, followed by cold water splashing on her face.
Ranita was startled awake, staring blankly at Chole. “What… are you doing…”Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
“What am I doing? Ranita, Mom is in the hospital because of you, and you can still sleep?” Chole’s voice wasn’t loud but was filled with sarcasm. “You’re truly an ungrateful wretch after all these years Mom raised you!”
Ranita, drenched and dazed, took a while to react. Suddenly, a small figure rushed over and headbutted Chole, shouting, “Bad auntie, don’t bully my mummy!”
“Brat!” Chole grabbed Ayaan by his overalls and pulled him away with disdain. “If you dare touch me again, don’t blame me for being rude!” She pushed Ayaan away.
Ayaan landed on his bottom, pouting with tears in his eyes but too scared to cry out. “Chole, are you crazy! Ayaan is just a child; how can you lay a hand on him!” Ranita struggled to get up and slapped Chole in anger. “If you have a problem, come at me. Leave my son alone.”
Chole was stunned that Ranita would hit her. “Ranita, you hit me?” Chole sneered and angrily raised her hand to slap Ranita back. Ranita tried to block it but only managed to hit Chole’s hand. The slap landed on her shoulder instead of her face.
Ranita gasped in pain. “Chole, don’t go too far…” Ranita’s chest hurt from anger. “Dad is at home; I don’t want to fight with you!”
“Haha! You’re so saintly and great, sacrificing so much for Mom and Dad. Should I be grateful? Ranita, remember what I said: you’re not part of Bowman’s Mansion. Get lost! If you dare come back, be ready for me to deal with you…”
“Chole, what are you doing!” At that moment, Benedict appeared, looking sternly at Chole. “What did you just say? Say it again!”
Benedict knew the sisters didn’t get along well in private but didn’t expect it to escalate to physical fights. And what were those things Chole just said?
