A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 87 Stars Surrounding the Moon

The Boulderland Mansion featured an opulent banquet hall. The ornate carpet showcased intricate handcrafted patterns, and a high ceiling was adorned with custom-designed crystal chandeliers. Guests from affluent families donned their finest attire, and despite the crowd, they maintained a sense of decorum, avoiding any excessive noise.

The scent of fresh flowers and sweet wine wafted through the air, creating a beautiful atmosphere that lent an air of elegance to the gathering.

“Mrs. Cather, Mr. Semeraro, I apologize for my tardiness.” Ranita headed directly for her intended acquaintances.

Mrs. Cather appeared to be acquainted with Arthur and engaged in conversation with him.

“Miss Bowman, I’m delighted you could join us!” Arthur rose courteously to shake Ranita’s hand. His touch was fleeting, demonstrating refinement in his manners.

In comparison to Mrs. Cather, Ranita found people like Arthur, with their outgoing personalities, more appealing.

“I’m equally pleased to see you again, Mr. Semeraro!” Ranita greeted him warmly as they exchanged the usual business pleasantries.

Shortly after she took her seat in the banquet hall, Brendon arrived with Shannon, creating a bit of a stir among the guests. Brendon was decked out in an attention-grabbing suit that accentuated his tall, chiseled features. His striking appearance instantly drew the gaze of everyone present, particularly the female attendees at the party.

This event served as a welcome party for Shannon, so many of those invited sent along younger family members seeking excitement in their lives. Before Brendon’s arrival, the atmosphere had been somewhat subdued, but now it was charged with energy, with attendees playfully teasing Shannon.

“Shannon… welcome back!”

“Yeah! Thanks to you, we finally get to step into Boulderland Mansion after three years!”

“Shannon, you’re positively radiant!”This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

“You and Mr. Stuart look perfect together! So enviable!”

“I wish I could have such joy too. I need a handsome boyfriend like that…”

The banquet hall buzzed with activity, and Shannon, in her elegant white gown and a crown adorned with pink gems, stood at the center of attention, radiating the presence of a true princess.

“Thank you all for joining my welcome party. Let’s have a wonderful time!” Shannon paused and cast a shy glance at Brendon before continuing, “And, of course, a special thanks to Brendon for helping me organize this event.”

Shannon had prepared a performance, playing a beautiful cello piece that elicited applause from all in attendance.

Arthur was also enthusiastic, exclaiming, “Miss Murphy truly possesses remarkable talent. Her performance was flawless.”

“Indeed,” Ranita replied nonchalantly.

On this night, Shannon basked in the spotlight, surrounded by a sea of guests, particularly Brendon, who held her close.

Meanwhile, Ranita wore plain attire, blending into the background.

When it came time to cut the cake, Ranita used the excuse of needing the restroom, as she frequently had to use it due to drinking water. As she traversed the corridor toward the restroom door, she finally managed to escape the cacophony of the celebration, and her mind felt momentarily serene.

While washing her hands in one of the sinks, someone suddenly crowded in beside her and grasped her hand!

“What are you doing?” Ranita tried to shake him off but realized that it was Turner.

“Ranita! How could you shake off my hand? Mrs. Stuart told me about introducing you to me. I’m quite pleased with you, even though you’re already married. So, come be mine!”

As he spoke, Turner leaned forward unabashedly, attempting to touch Ranita’s face.
