CHAPTER FOURTEEN
“Oh, Raszhiel, I’m so grateful for your help today,” Cayne’s mother said while smiling widely to me. “You know, things can get so stressful when we plan the Halloween Masquerade Ball.” She frowned. “I’m shuddering while thinking about the Christmas Party, and then the New Year’s party.” She placed her forefingers on the temple of her and took deep breaths muttering. ” Deep breaths, Monique. Just deep breaths.”
I smiled at her. “No worries, Auntie. It was my pleasure helping you fix things here at the party. If you want, I will help you plan and organize the New year and Christmas party.” She smiled at me. If it’s not too much of an imposition, I’d love that.”
I laughed. “No imposition at all, Mrs. Shelton.”
“Oh please, Raszhiel. Just call me mommy already. I already considered you as my daughter.” She shook her head and took a step towards me. She then hugged me. “I’m really sorry for what I’ve acted the last time, I hope you already forgiven me.”
“No worries, Mrs.—- I mean, Mom,” I shyly said. I’m still not used to it. “Besides, it’s all in the past now. We should move forward and forget what happened in the past. Build new memories, the good ones.”
She grinned at me, flashing her white teeth and said, “Yes of course, so now. Shall we get back to work?”
“Yes, we should.” I responded.

Cayne’s POV
“I can’t believe you were able to convince Raszhiel not to come to work today.” Rechie Anton scoffed at Cayne. He is the owner of the Anton’s Inc. in which Raszhiel is currently working as a fashion designer. He sat in the chair right across from Cayne, glaring at him belligerently over the oak desk.
“Raszhiel’s safety is in question,” Cayne responded looking at Rechie. “Her work can wait. You’re his boss, you should at least care for her safety.”
“Of course I care,” Rechie snarled incredulously. “And you don’t know anything about me. How can you categorize my feelings and care for my employee. Raszhiel worked here because of you, she may be started working here for 3 days by now but I know how passionate she is when it comes to her work. She gives importance to everything.”
Cayne raised one perfect eyebrow. “You’re giving too much attention to her. Don’t you even dare, Rechie.”
Rechie’s nostrils flared both in indignation and then he laughed hard. Cayne just remained quiet. “C’mon dude. What the hell is wrong with you? I find her appealing but what you are thinking is very wrong. Very hell no.”
Cayne smirked and said, “That’s what I thought. I understand why you find her appealing. She has a quiet personality.”
“You sound like you really love your wife,” Rechie said, which made him think of it. Is he? He shook his head.
I don’t know if I’d call wanting someone in my bed to be in love. He thought of it.
“Anyways, why did you ask for me here anyway?” Rechie asked him.
“I need your help.” He stated simply. Rechie eyed him with mistrust.
“Oh! The great Cayne Shelton is asking for my help. That’s new huh. How could you possibly think I would help you.” Rechie scoffed, not believing his ears.
“Don’t be a damn Rechie. I know you’ll help me.”

Raszhiel’s POV
“Shain, I really don’t think this is a good idea,” I complained.
“Bitch, it’s a wonderful idea.” She rolled her eyes.
After Cayne’s mom had called all the caterers, interviewed three DJ’s, talked to the party planner, and went to numerous stores in search of the perfect Halloween decorations, Shain came over and stole me away. I’d been running all over the town all day and really did not want to be whisked away. But once Shain wanted something, there was no use fighting.
And now, we were in her car. On our way to Cayne’s office. So Shain could see this “Anica bitch” in her words exactly with her own eyes.
“Besides, don’t you wanna see bae?” She asked, grinning at me.
“Whose bae?” I asked her.
She rolled her eyes. “Duh bitch, of course your husband.”Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
I rolled my eyes. I couldn’t tell Shain that Cayne wasn’t really my bae. Cayne was only pretending to be a bae because of his own reason. And that’s something that I really don’t know.
When we finally arrived at Shelton’s company, I remained still. She looked at me and rolled her eyes.
“Raszhiel, c’mon out and show me the bitch. I just wanna see what we’re up against. I’m gonna pimp smack her unless she asks for it.”
I just sighed and got out of the car. There was really no use in trying to fight Shain.
We walked to the elevator and Shain asked what floor was the office of Cayne. I answered her then she pushed the button to Cayne’s office, we were silent the whole time. The elevator then gave a soft ding and we stepped out.
Anica looked up, she was smiling at Shain but her smile suddenly faded away when she looked at me.
“I’m here to see my husband,” I said to her coolly. Shain just stared at her with her lips pursed.
Anica frowned and nodded stiffly. “Of course you are,” she muttered dryly, glaring at me.
“But unfortunately, Mr. Shelton is currently not here.” I raised my eyebrow.
“What do you mean he’s not here?” I asked.
“He’s with Mr. Rechie Anton.” Again, I raised my eyebrow. He’s with my boss? Why?
“Oh, okay. Please tell him that I, her WIFE, stopped by.” I intentionally told my wife to pissed her off. She rolled her eyes and nodded, it was very clear that she was not gonna tell Cayne that we were here.
And I know it was stupid as hell. And I know I shouldn’t try to be a smart ass with the person who was trying to kill me. But my inner bitch got the hell out of me.
I smiled sweetly at her and said, “Oh never mind. I’ll just tell him when he comes to bed tonight.”
And then I turned on my heel and left with a gaping Shain following close behind me.
We walked towards the elevator then went down the building. We then travelled home, to Shelton’s mansion.
“You are a badass!” Shain shouted at me as he parked outside of the mansion. “I mean I was waiting for her to say something so I could smack that bitch, but you girl handled that.” I grimaced and shook my head.
“I probably should’ve kept my mouth shut though,” I sighed and leaned back in my seat.
“Hey, you’ve got a backbone girl. The way Rita and Dan raised you.” Shain was on a first name basis with my parents who I hadn’t spoken to for a very long time now.
“Yeah right.” I said, sighing.
“My god! That Anica bitch reaction is very priceless. Serves her right though.” She said,
“I don’t think so. I think I just triggered her more.” I shook my head.
“Then I’ll smack down her ass,” she said while making a punch in the air. “Anyways, you should get some rest now.” She told me quietly, interrupting my inner monologue.
She was right. I’m really exhausted right now. I nodded to her.
“Be careful on your way back,” I said to her. I opened the car door and walked towards the door. She waited until I had opened the front door with the key that Cayne’s mother had given me, then she drove off.
I went directly to my room and took a shower to freshen up myself. After taking a shower, I fixed myself and went to bed. Hours later, Cayne came home. He went to my room and found me lying on my bed, reading a book. He busted to the door and fell onto my bed.
I looked at him. His eyes were closed and his lips were parted, his blonde hair askew. He looked like heaven.
I wanted to kiss him.
His blue eyes snapped open all of the sudden and then he looked at me. It was as if he could sense my feelings.
“I’m not that tired to have sex with you, if that’s what you want.” He grinned.
I frowned at him. Does he always have to ruin the moments with his big ass mouth?
I rolled my eyes and saved the page of the book that I was reading. He rolled over and nestled against the pillow.
I reached over and turned off the lights. I relaxed against the pillows and soon I heard Cayne snoring softly. I looked at him and realized he was still wearing his suit.
I smiled softly and removed his jacket and his tie and his shirt, putting them aside.
I have to admit, taking off his clothes makes my heart pound. It was very silly of me and I knew it.
I fought it and I would continue to fight for it. There is no way I would let myself be fooled again. I shouldn’t fall for him.

3rd Person POV
“I want her dead and I want her dead RIGHT NOW!!!!” Anica yelled in his face.
“And how would you proposed for me to be able to kill her right now?” He asked, annoyed.
He already had enough of this woman. “She’s being protected at all angles. By Nicholas, then Anton and worst, Cayne Shelton.” He spat out the names, hatred in his core.
“We have to take advantage of the Masquerade Ball that they are planning.” She said, Although Anica spoke quietly, his ears- which were trained to hear basically everything- heard her clearly.
He grinned. “I think I have an idea.”
