Chapter 92
Chapter 92 A Gift For The Daughter
Mr. Satan not only provided her with care and support but, more importantly, taught her how to face life.
He must be a very powerful man.
He had been lonely since childhood, with scars on his face. If he wasn't strong, he would have succumbed to the twists and turns of fate.
"Hey, Emily, what are you thinking about?"
Emily sighed lightly. "I'm thinking about my future life."
Olivia hugged her shoulder. "Don't worry, I'll always be with you."
"Can you help me with lunch first?"Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
"Cooking?" Olivia's eyes widened in surprise, and she opened the food delivery app. "I'll just order food. What do you want?"
Emily chuckled but didn't reply.
Ring ring-
The phone rang.
"Who is it?"
Emily glanced at it. "It's Jackson."
"Wow, are you going to answer?"
This was the boss's call. How could she not answer?
"Hello?" Emily answered.
"Come downstairs." Jackson's tone was terse.
Emily furrowed her brow. "Boss, do you need something?"
"I told you to come downstairs."
Emily took a deep breath, feeling resigned. "Could you please tell me over the phone? Or send me an email?"
There was silence from Jackson for a long time.
Just when Emily thought he had hung up the phone, Jackson's voice suddenly came through: "Emily, rest assured, now that you have a man you like, I won't pester you. I'm contacting you for work. There will be very important guests at the car exhibition the day after tomorrow, so I need to discuss the theme with you in advance to avoid any issues with the models' makeup."
His tone was not as urgent as before; instead, it was calm, with a hint of politeness and detachment between his words.
This was the way a boss and an employee should converse.
Jackson must have let go of it already.
"...Okay, I'll change and come down."
"Okay, I'll be waiting for you at the Hilton hotel entrance."
After hanging up, Olivia approached. "He asked you out? Emily, I have to make it clear to you, I'm being paid by Mr. Satan to be with you. I have to report everything you do to him."
Emily tapped her on the head. "Don't worry, Jackson wants to discuss work. I'll inform Mr. Satan."
"You're adorable. My dad hasn't been giving me pocket money lately, so now I rely on the salary Mr. Satan gives me."
Emily opened her closet, picking a simple white dress. "Hasn't Allen Parker given you a job yet?"
"Allen Parker said there's no pay during the probation period. I'll only get paid when I become a full-time employee. I'm so mad at him! My dad stopped giving me pocket money just because I wanted to work in the entertainment industry. Now Allen Parker isn't paying me either, and I have no money for food."
Emily finished changing and tied her
met
hair into a high ponytail. She nodded: "Jackson mentioned that Allen Parker's company is like this. The probationary period salary will be given when it's converted to a
fuff-time position."
"Is that so? I thought Allen Parker was deliberately trying to cheat me. Now it puts my mind at ease."
Emily smiled.
Allen Parker had put in a lot of effort to keep Olivia by his side. Considering Allen Parker was Mr. Satan's friend, she was willing to help him.
At least Allen Parker had put some thought into Olivia.
"Okay, I'll head downstairs now. Are you waiting here for me, or are you going home first?"
"Why would I stay here after you've left? I have to go to the company, just in case Allen Parker comes up with some crazy idea again."
While Olivia changed, Emily sent a text to Mr. Satan.
[Jackson wants to discuss work for the car exhibition. Can I go?]
Beep beep-
The reply came quickly: [Be safe and come back early. -Satan]
He agreed?
Mr. Satan had never restricted her freedom, and he had enough confidence. He was confident in her and himself.
Emily put her phone back into her handbag.
They went downstairs together.
As soon as they stepped out of the hotel entrance, they saw Jackson. He was still in black leather jacket, sunglasses, and behind him was the limited-edition sports car, bright pink and quite eye-catching. Seeing them come down, Jackson straightened up and said to Olivia, "My brother wants to see you at the office."
"Really? I didn't get a call from him?"
"Your phone was off, so he asked me to pass on the message," Jackson was surprisingly friendly towards Olivia, even offering, "Let me give you a lift."
"No, thanks, I can't handle the color of this car. I'll take a taxi myself. Don't you have work to discuss? I won't bother you anymore."
Jackson hailed a taxi for Olivia, watched her leave, then turned back.
He opened the passenger door with a gesture. "Shall we?"
Emily nodded and got in.
Jackson sat in the driver's seat and smoothly started the car.
"Your car color is quite unique today."
"Is it?" Jackson touched his nose, looking somewhat awkward. "Don't girls like pink?"
Emily smiled faintly. "Pink does look nice."
Jackson's complexion improved
slightly. "I thought you had
something going on with my brother
before, but it turns out he's
interested in Olivia! I was worried for
nothing. But you still have that
masked man on your mind."
Emily didn't respond.
"Don't overthink it. I don't mean anything else. I've really let it go. Let's just keep it professional from now on. Don't think of me as that bastard Nathan." Emily chuckled. "I know, you're different from Nathan."
Jackson hmpked, changing the
subject. "There will be some important guests at the next car exhibition. There's a designer named Morgan attending. He wants to pick a gift for his daughter to celebrate her wedding. You need to be prepared."
