Marrying my high school bully

Revelation and reconciliation

Melissa

This was a secret I kept from everyone including my father. He thought that I went to a plastic surgeon to have my face changed, but what he didn’t know was that I dropped our initial arrangement at the last minute.

Since my face wasn’t marred by the accident, I decided to hold onto it while I put up a facade.

I pleaded with the surgeon to make a face mask that would fit my facial structure. He agreed since it was my desire, and the only time I was tempted to take off the mask was when I saw Dexter again after two years.

“What are you up to?” He shifted uncomfortably as I shut my eyes and peeled the mask off, revealing my true identity.

He gasped, shrinking backward as his hand flew to his lip.

“You didn’t undergo any surgery?”

“Apparently, I didn’t. I was too much in love with my face to have it redone.” I replied nonchalantly.

“I can’t believe this, Lorraine. Why didn’t you just tell me the truth?”

“I couldn’t because you wouldn’t believe me. I tried to do that several times but you held onto your anger.”

She was right, and no amount of apology would be enough.

“I found Dante and he confessed to being a part of their team. He’s under my detention presently, and I plan to sue Leonardo and his daughter for what they did to you. For what they did to us.”

“How did you find him?” Anger whirled up within me at the sound of his name.

That idiot watched me go through the most horrible moment of my life without lifting a finger to help me. All he could do was stare at me like a robot.

Seeing how tense Dexter was by merely speaking about him, I could tell that Dante had gone through a lot of torture.

He explained how he baited him with the help of Drake, who pretended to have a job opportunity. I liked that he fell for every trap they set for him.

Then I decided to reveal another secret that I’d been holding back for a while.

“Liam is still alive,” I informed him.

“How do you know that? I know that he’s not dead because he wasn’t the person I saw at the morgue, but how can you be so sure that he’s still alive?”NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.

“Because I planned everything. I knew that Emilia was going to come for him after you caught the both of them together, so I acted fast and got him out just before the poison took effect on him.”

He kept silent, his gaze away from me as I tried to decipher what could be going on in his mind.

“You’ve changed so much, Melissa.” He noted.

“How?”

“The timid woman I used to know has been replaced by a bold and daring woman, who crushes anyone that dares to cross her path. She has turned into a lioness who fights fiercely for whatever belongs to her. And you know what?”

His face beamed with pride.

“I’m listening.”

“I’m proud of you, babe. The fact that you achieved all these without anyone’s help is admirable. You are the strongest woman I know.”

My body tingled with delight as he referred to me with the endearing name. I never thought a time would come when we would both be together like this, just how I imagined it.

He wouldn’t struggle to stay away from me because of his search for me. We were back together and I would never let him go again.

“Thank you. I fought hard because of the love I have for you. Emilia wanted to bring us apart so that she could step in and get your wealth to herself…” I stopped myself from talking further as it wasn’t in my place to reveal the heartbreaking news.

“Are you alright?”

I nodded and snaked my arm around his neck. “I’m just happy that we can be intimate without guilt. We are still married, so our babies will have a stable home.” I gushed.

He touched my belly, then rubbed it gently. “Yeah, they will with Lilly. I’m sure she’ll be a wonderful big sister to our sons.” He kept caressing my stomach as his eyes blazed with desire. “I want to make a request, Melissa.”

“What could that be?”

“I want you to come back to the house. I’d been thinking of the right way to convince you, but since we have reconciled, don’t you think it will be safer for you to live with me?”

“Ummm… I don’t think I can do that.”

He silenced me with his index finger on my lips. “Of course you can, Melissa. Doctor Luca was here earlier to check on you and he advised that you take a break from work. After everything you’ve been through, you deserve to be watched over and taken proper care of. I’d never forgive myself if anything happens to you and our babies.”

His genuine concern struck me, causing me to rethink my decision to stay alone.

“This could attract unwanted attention towards us, Dexter. We don’t want Emilia and Leonardo to begin to suspect us, you know.”

He reached for my hand.

“I know that you are quite skeptical, but at one point we’ll have to face them, and we won’t look back when we decide to. Right now, your safety matters to me and I won’t compromise it for some vendetta.” His tone became harsh, but I didn’t count it against him since I knew his motivation.

“So what are you trying to say?”

“That I want you to give me the chance to be a real husband to you. We’ve been away from each other for more than two years, Melissa, don’t you think we have a lot of things to make up for?” He asked penitently and I scoffed, knowing that his words had gotten to me.

I raised my hands in surrender. “Fine. I’ll move back in with you, but we’ll have to keep our relationship a secret. And I’ll also be wearing the mask until the truth is revealed.”

He sighed in relief. “Thank you for giving me another chance.” He placed his head on my chest, smothering my breasts with sensual kisses, and when he raised his head, I instantly knew what he wanted.

“Make love to me,” I muttered under my breath and he gave in to my request by merging our lips.
