Don’t Mess With the Rock Chicks

Chapter 36

Chapter 36

Misunderstanding?

Never.

Jolene knew she had no particular strengths, but she still had self–knowledge.

Since her first day with Bowen, she had understood that she needed to do her part well.

Her position was in a pit, neither deep nor shallow, not to mention climbing up a step. Even half an action would not happen.

She put her body on her elbows and smiled weakly, “It would be the best if Mr Evert would give some more.” She should have vividly interpreted an insatiable face.

It was so real that even she doubted if it was her nature.

There was deathly silence in the car.

Only the breathing of Jolene and Bowen could be heard.

She had always found Bowen’s breathing very sexy.

She liked that she was still awake when Bowen fell asleep.

Jolene liked to lie on his pillow and listen to his breathing.

She would slowly fall asleep with the sound of Bowen breathing.

Although he woke up the next day, Bowen was no longer beside her.

But now, his breathing was not sexy but full of oppression.

The blood all over her body slowly stopped flowing under his

gaze.

And Bowen in front of her was like a sculpture.

Finally, the sculpture moved.

He pulled a chequebook from his pocket.

The domineering CEO in the novel always carried a chequebook with him. He just happened to ask the accountant for one and put it in his pocket.

It just came in handy.

He took off the pen cap and quickly wrote a number on it, tore it off and threw it to Jolene.

She picked it up and looked at the numbers on it.

Two million.

She held the check and smiled softly, “Thank you, Mr Evert.”

It was so lovely to be rich. Throwing out two million was like two hundred dollars.

With a ding, Bowen’s cell phone rang.

He picked it up and took a look.

She didn’t know if it was outrageous or expected, but he chuckled and said, “You were really short of money. You sold all the necklaces I gave you.” Bowen’s news was well- informed. Jolene had not

received the necklace money. But he already knew.

“1.8 million.” She told him softly. NôvelDrama.Org owns this.

“You’re at a loss.” His tone was even lighter, “I bought that necklace at a charity dinner, and it was worth more than five million.”

“If I changed hands again, it would be a third–hand item…” Jolene looked up at him.

It had been a long time since she saw the cold mist covering Bowen’s black pupils.

She still remembered the first time she met him for an interview, and she was secretly thinking, why was this man so cruel? Were all domineering presidents like this?

Later, Jolene became his secretary and found that the president was not too cold.

Bowen would not scold her when Jolene did something wrong, nor would he mock her.

The first time she arranged a messy dinner, she thought that Bowen would scold her to death and even fire her.

But no.

Even after the dinner, he told her it had been his first time as president, and he hadn’t done well.

He was just twenty–five years old that year and had taken over Earth Group after finishing his master’s degree.

When he said these words, Jolene secretly looked into his

eyes.

She wondered how there could be such a gentle and domineering president. Afterwards, Jolene became better and better, more and more impeccable.

Bowen was a good boss.

They had a good beginning, but the ending was messy.

No one directed it, so it just happened naturally.

Jolene believed in God’s will, to put it bluntly, she was resigned to fate.

She was exhausted and fell back on the back seat, “Mr Evert, if you didn’t want to see me, you could leave me here, and I would ask my boyfriend to pick me up.”

She lay quietly and heard the sound of Bowen opening the car door and getting out of the car.

He didn’t close the car door very hard.

He had always been a handsome young man. Even if he was angry, he wouldn’t yell and get angry.

Jolene propped up her body vigorously and looked at Bowen’s back.

In fact, they could end very well.

It ended up being screwed by her.
