Alpha’s Surrogate Chapter 41

41. I hate you but I still want you..

“Zander, listen to me son…”

“What is that commotion?” The sound of a woman screaming and pleading filled Tyler’s ears as he continued to drive closer to the pack house puzzled him. It sounded like she was being tortured or mistreated, which had never happened in the history of the Sirius Bright Pack. Women were respected as much as men in this pack so who could she possibly be? Why did she sound like someone was trying to kill her? If he was correct, then he had only heard her calling the younger Alpha’s name. When the Gamma couldn’t comprehend what was going on, he turned to the man sitting next to him.

“What is going on here now?” He looked at the passenger seat where Beta Kaiden was watching the trouble unfold in silence, his gaze locked on the entrance to the pack house. While his ears picked up a woman’s unpleasant voice. Kiaden’s handsome face creased in displeasure as his wide eyes snapped to his perplexed friend.

“f**k! I think I know who she is,” he clenched his teeth as he ran out of the car, trailed by the Gamma, who remained bewildered. That’s when Lena and Jennifer mind-linked their mates, revealing everything that had transpired while they had been away from the pack. Maya’s shrill voice was clearly audible as she was led out of the pack house by her second son, who, at the age of four, used to chase after his Mom all the time seeking attention but had only received neglect. There was not a single day in his life that he had been able to forget those memories. Iris’ weeping figure was plainly visible, following behind her mother and brother. She had no clue that things would turn out so badly. Maya’s current condition terrified her. She knew her brothers’ hatred for their Mother ran deeply but had no idea that it was to this extent?

“Is that Luna Maya?” Tyler looked at Kaiden for a response, since the current Beta of the pack had been buddies with the twins’ since childhood. He was well-versed in everything, but Tyler’s case was unique. He’d only heard negative stories about Luna Maya. Why were her stories and deeds similar to Petra’s? And wait! Why did she appear to be a beggar? Who had assaulted her?

“Yes, that is Luna Maya, but…. Kaiden stopped talking when they received a command from their Alpha.

“Kaiden, Tyler!” Both of the men exchanged glances before sprinting over to the Alpha, who had a devilish aura and had aggressively grasped his Mother’s arms. He’d almost buried his claws in her arms, as he was dragging her away. All the memories from the past, along with what she had said to Xavier earlier, had poisoned Zander’s heart. He had only one feeling left towards this woman, pure unadulterated hatred. Even after 20 years, she was still only interested in money, power, and gaining help to save the pack she left her mate and children for. She did not return to make amends, instead she had caused a dispute between his twin and sister-in-mate! f**k! Their relationship was already fragile, and she had sabotaged it.

This woman may have given birth to them but was in no way their Mother!

“Zander, please, I beg you. Help Alpha Luca…” Maya sobbed incessantly. She’d been attempting to win sympathy ever since he had hauled her out of Xavier’s room. Maya had fainted for a few moments. She had no idea what was going on at the moment. Her second son was now her only hope as he was also an Alpha of the Sirius Bright Pack. If he agreed to help then Xavier would have no other option than to agree, but trying to play the sympathy game with him was not working either.

“I would have thought about helping you if you had begged on your knees and apologized to my Father’s grave for all of the you dirty deeds and acts of betrayal you committed against him! I would have helped you, if you had realized all of your mistakes but no. You are a slut, just like Xavier said. I am ashamed to use the word ‘mother’ because of you!” Zander yelled in her face as her older body

trembled in horror. He seemed to be transforming into his wolf, ready to tear her apart. Had she not sufficiently brainwashed her sons while they were young? They’d always done as she instructed, but then everything had changed. They both hated her now. Stephen, the elderly wolf, must have turned them against their Mother!

“We will be exterminated if you do not help us, my son. The Blue Moon Pack will hear that Xavier and you have refused to help. If you don’t stop them, I am going to die. Do you hear me, your Mum will die?” Alpha Roman, the Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack, had once been Xavier’s father-in-law. Even if the older Alpha had rejected Petra, he could instruct Alpha Roman to cease circling Alpha Luca’s pack since the Sirius Bright Pack and Blue Moon Pack were still connected through a treaty. When the gray- eyed, selfish

Mother had abandoned her wailing children, she had no clue that her twins would end up being the ones to burn her entire world down. They had become the fear of the werewolf world! Maya shed a few more tears, crying out, so that the passing pack members could see how terribly the former Luna of the pack was being treated by her sons.

“I think you do not understand,” Zander chuckled, pulling his Mother closer to him. A small smile played on his lips was quite scary for his mother.

“I had already believed that you had died. I’m quite disappointed by the fact that you’re still alive and that I had to see your wretched face again. If you perish in the attack, it will have no effect on my life. I’ll pray to the Moon Goddess to condemn you to a horrible death along with your whorish husband,” her son revealed, pushing her away with another gentle smile. What had made that sound like a curse? What kind of son would curse his own Mother?

“Throw her off of my pack land!” The Alpha’s tone was heavier and more dangerous than ever when he addressed the Beta and Gamma wolves. Within a few seconds, the elderly woman found herself on the ground at the feet of the Beta and Gamma of the pack, who pulled her up to her feet to drag her away.

Maya panicked as she was being dragged away, none of the people around her had questioned the ruthless behavior of their Alpha. Everyone had been trying to act like they were blind, they were not even gossiping about what they had heard. This side of younger Alpha was scary for the other pack members, who had run away to their homes or work.

“No! Zander, do you want your Mother to die? How could you be so cruel to me?” Her big teary gray

eyes had been fixed on her cruel second son. He was no different from his twin. Both of them were cruel! The young Luna had beaten her severely. The older woman had lost a good amount of blood, hair, and even her teeth had been damaged, yet neither of them cared about their mother.

“Just throw her away like the trash she is. If she creates any more problems, then I order you to finish off her pack, family, and son before the Blue Moon Pack has a chance to!” Zander commanded casually as he shoved both hands into his pocket. Maya’s face turned white when she heard her son. She had come here for help but now there was the possibility that the Sirius Bright Pack could attack them as well. Her husband, Alpha Luca was an abusive manwhore. She had realized it after sometime of her marriage but she still loved him. If she went back to him empty handed then he could kill her and her son as well.

A

“Let me go!” Maya shrieked, freeing herself from Kaiden’s hold. He had intentionally not held her tightly thinking that she was injured.

“Zander!!!” The older she-wolf screeched in wrath, halting her son, who had already turned to leave. In exhaustion, the Alpha inhaled a deep breath and paused his departure. She truly had a death wish. He turned to give her a bored look. She was not going to give up.

“As expected, you are weak like your Father!” She yelled like a lunatic, it rang like a death knell in Zander’s ears. Evan pushed his human to step closer to the b***h who had disrespected their Father.

His green eyes had turned to a mixture of bright crimson.

“Say something about my Father again, I’ll forget that you gave birth to me,” Zander growled, staring deep into her bold eyes. The only reason he hadn’t killed her was because he had her blood in his veins. She had given birth to him, breastfed him, even if that was all she had done for him.

“Then kill me, Zander! Kill your Mother,” she walked closer to him, whispering. She was no longer afraid of death. If they did not help her she would die no matter what, but she could not stand the thought of her husband and son dying as well. She would not allow her twins to have a quiet life if she could not survive or preserve her family! She’d already taken an oath.

“The truth will always be the truth! You are nothing but just a photocopy of your brother. Your luck will be as rotten as your brother! Just wait and watch for your mate to come into your life. You will be rejected, that is the curse I place on you!” Maya screamed, shaking the Alpha’s mind and heart deeply. She had attacked his most vulnerable spot. Like she had said, he had rotten luck. He had found his mate but

she did not like him back. She did not even share a bed with him. Evan had become mute as his last

remaining parental bond hurt him badly. Wolves were very sensitive about their close bonds. Everything

about the curse that his mother had just placed on him was true. Adira did not love him…

“Zander,” when Adira’s voice reached his ears, his heartbeat became so rapid that he couldn’t help but turn back to her. His fated mate had never addressed him by name. It felt like a dream. Had she called his name? As Adira drew closer to him, he forgot to blink. She was with Jennifer and Lena while they told her about Petra and Maya’s. She raced out to find Zander as soon as she sensed his grief, which had squeezed her heart badly. She wanted to see him no matter the conditions.

“What’s wrong?” Her blue eyes were filled with anxiety as she inquired. She longed for his green

playful eyes that had always been fixed on her like an eagle. Not this sorrow-filled pair of green diamonds that made her heart skip a beat.

“Tell me,” when he didn’t respond, Adira couldn’t help but reach up and touch his cheek. Why was his heart broken? She was well aware that she was responsible in some way for his condition.

“She said, you would reject me,” Zander murmured this while slowly pressing his face against her smooth and warm plam. He had already warned her not to touch him recklessly, but she constantly defied his commands. Now he was yearning for more. The gorgeous young she-wolf’s calm yet astonished gaze was fixed on his sorrow filled one. Isha growled in her head, desperate to shift and comfort Evan for the

rest of her life.

Zander blinked, unable to bear her anguish. What had he said? He should not have said anything to

her. There was nothing Adira could do about it. She’d already told him where things stood between them. He was also keenly aware that he had little chance of obtaining her in this lifetime, but he still needed to give it a try. He wanted to spend this year with his soul mate, even if in the end she did not accept him. He tore his green eyes away from her blue ones in an attempt to look away, but Adira drew him down a little.

“Since when did you start believing outsiders?” She inquired, her gaze fixed on his. The Alpha

observed her closing the gap between them as her breast brushed his chest, preventing air from passing

between them. What was she doing?

“All you have to do is focus your eyes on me. This is our life, we will live it as we see fit. Don’t tell me you’re regretting that you have found me. I’ll kill you,” she whispered as she lifted up on her toes and pressed her lips on his. She closed her eyes as she experienced her best kiss. Her soulmate, who she hadn’t even desired, had been the one who to steal and own her kiss. Zander’s eyes widened in amazement. This was her kiss with him willingly! Was this actually happening?

The Beta and Gamma couples smiled at each other, but the Alpha was still convinced it was all a

dream. Adira smiled as she opened her eyes to find his open ones, as she felt his crazy heartbeat under his

palm.

“Too bad, it was not a dream,” with a smirk, she drew away, making him lick his lips. He blinked, finally understanding that he had passed up the chance to kiss her back! f**k! Why had that felt like her first kiss? hadn’t she ever kissed anyone? f**k! It was incredibly hot! Adira turned her gaze to Maya, whose mouth hung wide open having witnessed her younger son’s soulmate kissing him. She had no idea Adira had already entered his life.

“As for this old b***h,” the Luna moved closer to Maya, who took a step back in terror. The new Luna appeared to be familiar to her. The older she-wolf soon realized that she was Kiara’s sister. How could it be that her twins had been mated to these wild sisters? The younger sister had broken her teeth and severely injured her. Who knows what this Luna was capable of? She was fully aware that she would not receive any help from her son. After that kiss, the dangerous Alpha resembled a love-sick puppy. His emerald gaze was focused on his mate. Maya was terrified that he would let his blue-eyed Luna murder her. Adira’s eyes

were filled with both loathing and rage towards her mother-in-mate, just as Kiara’s had.

“Never consider returning to my mate’s life again. You will not be insulted the next time, you will be killed on sight,” Adira warned as she stepped in front of her then looked at Kaiden and Tyler. Both the Beta and Gamma looked at their Alpha who had a smile on his face. He had quickly forgotten what his Mother had said to him, it had been completely eclipsed by the word ‘mate’ that had been used by Adira. Had she really called him her mate?

“This woman has not only degraded the Sirius Bright Pack’s Alphas and Lunas, but she has cursed them as well. She will be killed on the boundaries of our territory if she tries to enter this pack again from this point forward. There will be no need to carry her dead body inside. Simply leave it for the animals when you’re done. No need to inform us either. That is my command as the Luna and Alpha Zander’s mate!” The young Luna’s voice boomed across the pack.

“Yes Luna,” Kaide and Tyler responded, dropping their heads, then returning to their job. Maya became terrified, she pleaded and screamed again, but she was violently hauled away. Zander stood behind Adira as they watched Maya disappear. Suddenly, the young woman felt her mate’s greedy arms wrapping around her waist.

“You called me your mate,” he murmured, seducing her wolf. Adira closed her eyes enduring his

teasing.

“Did you hate it?” She questioned, taking a deep breath. His touch was enticing to her. He knew where her sensitive spots were despite the fact that they hadn’t had s*x.

“Hate?” The Alpha chuckled in her ear, then nibbled one. “I love you, Adira. My mate,” he whispered.

“Kiara,” Xavier yelled at the top of his lungs. He’d already shifted back into his human form and was wearing sweat-soaked clothing. He didn’t know how long he’d been running, but he was furious with himself.

“f**k! I have messed everything up in anger!” He gritted his teeth. He was well aware that he had hurt

her. It was entirely his fault. Kiara’s abrupt attack on Maya, on the other hand, had caught him completely

off guard. Dean had caused him to lose control. The wolf still had feelings for his mother and couldn’t bear the thought of her being assaulted. Dean could have murdered that person if it hadn’t been Kiara. It was too late by the time he understood what a mess he had made. She had already taken his comments to her heart. How could he have forgotten how fragile and innocent she was?

Another cause of his annoyance was her declaration that she hated him! To express his pent-up rage, the Alpha kicked a nearby tree. How can she claim she despises him? She couldn’t possibly despise him! He’d never let that happen. Without her, his mate bond had driven him wild. The Alpha had been diligently following his wife, but he had lost her when a weird fog-like object appeared. Xavier owed Kiara an apology. He thought he was insane for feeling her sorrow. He was aware that she was somewhere crying alone, and he was not with her!

He was already in the midst of the woods. Despite the fact that he was in his own territory, this was

the most hazardous location in this pack. The terrain and boundaries of the pack were spread out over

several acres. The route and course of this territory were known only to the pack members, but it was still an unknown place for Kiara. Would she be unable to find her way back to the pack? Why would she not answer his mind-link? Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

He took a wary glance around him. What was it? Fog at this time of year was unexpected. Even though the sun was shining brightly, the fog seeping between the trees appeared to be quite threatening. That’s when Xavier noticed he couldn’t smell his woman.f**k!

“This is a trap!” He mumbled, sprinting into the fog like a lunatic. But who was the trap set for? Kiara’s disappearance had set off a chain reaction in his imagination. He accelerated his pace, fearing that if he didn’t find her quickly, he’d lose her.

“Kiara!!” He came to a halt in the distance and called her name in each direction, but she never responded. How could her tempting chocolate aroma have vanished? The strangest thing was that he couldn’t feel her through the bond. They’d mated and marked each other, so how could that be? Something was definitely wrong! Dean was growling in regret and anger. It was all their fault.

He kept looking for Kiara like a mad dog until he realized what was going on. He couldn’t smell or feel his mate, and he couldn’t connect with any of his pack members. This section of the woods was bound by a spell! Who the heck would use a spell from his pack? Using spells and black magic was forbidden, anyone caught doing so would be publicly beheaded! Who the f**k had a death wish?

Xavier’s running feet were stopped by an unexpected sound. Who was there?

“Kiara, are you there?” He yelled, sprinting to his right, only to see the fog evaporate. He came to a halt as he looked around cautiously. Why the f**k was this fog suddenly disappearing? Was it another trap?

As soon as the surroundings were as clear as before, a dead body materialized in front of his emerald eyes. When he realized it was a woman, Xavier’s body grew chilled as his eyes widened. Who was she?

Kiara?!

“Kiara!” Dean and his human shouted simultaneously as they sprinted over to the body.

“Kiara,” he placed the lifeless body on his lap while his whole body was sweating. His heartbeat was racing like a horse. The woman’s physique had thinned and had gone white. Like the other previous

dead body of the wolf, she had a bite mark on her neck. But wait, this wasn’t his mate. Even though the body was scentless Xavier knew it was not his she-wolf. It was not her. He put her head to the ground slowly and

took a closer look at her neck. Was it a vampire attack? In his territory? Smack dab in the middle of the

woods? How the heck was it even possible?

Why couldn’t he find out whether a vampire had entered Sirius Bright Pack territory? And what about the spell? It was gone too. He could now feel and smell everything. The reason behind the spell was still

unknown to him.

“Kaiden, I’m in the pack’s south-eastern corner. There’s a dead body here. Bring a few wolves. Ask Tyler lock down in the pack again. Seal all the borders and don’t allow anybody through,” Xavier ordered

as he rose from the ground, his gaze searching to Kiara. The discovery of a dead body in the midst of the

woods was not a good omen. If the woman had cried for help, no one would have heard her. Where had

that Vampire gone? How many people had he slaughtered? Was he still in the area? f**k! Where had Kiara gone? Did… did she….

“Kiara!!” Xavier yelled again, refusing to give in to the negative feeling trying to overpower him and

ran in the opposite direction. If something happened to her then he was going to burn the vampire kingdom to the ground and spit on the ashes! There was no way he could lose her. While running he

caught her scent and increased his speed when he heard her sobbing. Why was she crying? Why? In the distance he spotted her behind a tree and ran to her. What was she doing there?

“Kiara,” the young she-wolf stepped away from the tree and turned, to see Xavier approaching her. Her eyes were wide as if she had seen a ghost, yet her tired feet began to walk again.

“Xavier,” she cried, sprinting towards him just to leap on him. The Alpha grabbed his woman’s cold, shivering, and wailing body wrapping her securely into his warm embrace.

“Why did you run away from me?” He murmured, kissing her on the cheek. Fortunately, she was not hurt or injured. The vampire had been unable to approach her. Or perhaps he had found her before something awful had happened. She was safe in his arms, where she had always belonged.

“Stop sobbing. I’m here. Why are you still crying, hm?” He moved his hands over her back, through her hair and head, and kissed her neck as she snuggled her face into his neck. His scent had been helping

her hold herself together.

“There is a dead body of a man. I thought you died,” Kiara sobbed as she told the story, her body trembling in fear. The deceased person was odorless, and he was dressed similarly to Xavier. Venus had nearly gone insane at the thought of losing her mate before she had even touched the body. The young woman couldn’t believe she was back in her mate’s arms. He looked the same. He had followed her despite her demand that he not do so.

“Killing me is not that easy,” Xavier chuckled, realizing what his woman had feared. He had never seen her in this condition. There was still a little girl inside her.

“I thought you left me forever,” Kiara whispered, wiping away more tears on his shoulders. Xavier’s fingers came to a halt on her back as his heart raced in response to her words. She was worried he’d abandon her? He drew her slightly away but her legs were still around his waist.

“Didn’t you say you hate me?” He asked, his gaze drawn to her teary chocolatey eyes. He felt her emotions fluctuating up and down as the spark started to run through their blood. Before responding, the young she-wolf remembered her words and dropped her gaze.

“Yes, I hate you but I still want you,” she answered with a pout, raising her gaze once again. Xavier’s lips curved into a small smile before he drew her into a passionate kiss.f**k! He’d been missing those red lips terribly. Kiara closed her eyes, unable to return his kiss, but she felt his warmth and gentleness, which had taken all of her dread away in an instant. Kiara forgot herself in his embrace, while Venus growled in delight in her head. There was no way she could go on without this man. She needed him more than she

needed to breathe.

“I am sorry for what I said, Kiara. You can hate me for it if you want,” Xavier broke the kiss, but his forehead came to rest against hers slowly. They both stayed like that for a couple of seconds in a peaceful silence. He couldn’t let Dean carry all of the blame. He was equally to blame for her yelling. He was the one who had broken her heart. Kiara raised his face and gazed into his sorrowful green eyes.

“Take me home, Xavier,” she murmured this before capturing his lips. She was the one who had kissed him this time. As he turned his feet to return the pack with his mate in his arms, Xavier closed his eyes and

kissed her back softly.
