Chapter 29
Chapter 29
Sage, on the other hand, did not notice what was going on with Zachary. She had her eyes glued to the stage.
The ceremony had officially begun, and the emcee was beginning to speak.
With chips in her mouth, Sage was patiently listening to the emcee finish his opening speech. Sage stopped eating when the groom showed up as the guests applaused,
Jace Yuriel, her ex-husband, was standing tall on stage, waving calmly to the guests. Under the bright lights, his distinctive facial features and good looks were accentuated.
She was used to seeing him in suits, but this was the first time she saw him in an all-white suit. Compared to his usual cold and distant vibes, Jace looked warm and gentle.
“He’s finally marrying the person he loves, this must be the happiest day of his life.” Sage thought bitterly to herself.
For some reason, the chips tasted bitter in her mouth. Sage thought that the bag of chips might have gone bad.
After introducing the groom, the emcee proceeded to invite the bride on stage. It was then that a clear crisp voice could be heard coming from the direction of the audience.
“Hold on!” cried Zachary as he ran toward Jace, and leaped onto the stage. Looking all serious, he showed the information he received earlier to Jace and said, “Jace, look at this!”
Furrowing his brows, Jace’s face hardened as he said, “Zach, you’ve been making a fuss for the past few days and enough is enough. I won’t forgive you if you make a scene today.”
Jace then signaled Zayne and the rest of his men to drag Zachary off the stage. Struggling away from Zayne, the papers fell on the stage, but Jace kicked them aside without even looking at them.
Watching the scene unfolding through the video, Luther shook his head and murmured under his breath, “I thought he would shine, but this kid is weak.”
“Who’s weak?” asked Sage who was now staring at Luther. “What did you do this time? What did Zachary have in his hands earlier?” Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
Luther chuckled awkwardly as he tumed Sage’s head back at the screen and said, “Keep watching, the good part is coming up.”
The emcee smoothened things over professionally and said, “Apologies for the small episode hahaha… I’m guessing the bride must be dying to meet the groom. Let us all put our hands together to welcome our bride, Miss Sienna Zelda!”
With a bouquet of white flowers in her hands and a crown on her head, Sienna shyly walked onto the stage. Accompanied by her bridesmaids, Sienna looked stunning.
Step by step, she walked toward Jace.
Suddenly, the piano accompaniment came to a halt, replacing it was the high-pitched moaning of a woman. “Aha… nono… come on baby…”
As the venue had a good audio system, every breath and gasp could be heard clearly. There was even a 3D stereophonic sound effect.
The experienced guests coughed uncomfortably while some of the adults were covering their children’s ears. Sienna, on the other hand, froze completely and stopped in her tracks. She paled.
“What was going on? The voice… sounded like mine…” Sienna thought to herself.
“What’s going on?” Jace asked. His expression darkened, and his tone was ominous.
Zayne was on the verge of breaking down after the constant mishaps. Just as he was about to send someone backstage, the short audio clip came to an end and was replaced by the usual piano accompaniment.
“Ahh, another small hiccup it seems. Well, let us get back to where we left off,” announced the emcee as he tried to smooth the situation again,
